I Bought a CHEAP VINTAGE Backpack - And Went For a Hike
Hello KZread!
Today I’m testing a cheap, vintage external frame hiking backpack that I bought from a boot fayre (or a yard sale, if you’re American).
This is an aluminium frame Citizen Camping backpack, I believe from the 1970s or 1980s… so considerably older than me! I decided to take it on a hike to the highest point on Dartmoor, High Willhays, to see what it was like hiking in the olden days!
This might be my new wild camping backpack, if I get on well with it, so fingers crossed that I do!

No waist belt? without one you are carrying the whole weight on your shoulders.

No waist belt at all! Not sure if it originally came with one, but the real test will be when it’s a full pack!
