    Regarding the aircon, it's working because the previous owners used it all the time (as it should be winter and summer). It mostly has issues with the system components when owners think they are being smart by turning it off. In reality, all you are doing is increasing the humidity and fogging up windows by turning it off. Leave it on all the time and you are VERY unlikely to have issues.

    Correct. We don't have the problem of a/c failures due to lack of use here where I am in Aus, because, only fools and masochists don't run the a/c in all but the depth of winter (because you'd cook before you got to the end of the street), and even then it helps to dehumidify/defog the car. Cheers!

    The diamond key can be charged by either driving the car or by an electric toothbrush. Use the base of the toothbrush ( it has a coil inside) and put that key inside - I am NOT joking. It takes roughly overnight to charge fully as it's a slow charge but it bloody works! The bad point is if you don't use your spare diamond key on a regular basis it will go completely flat and will need battery replacement (DIY only - it's sealed for life)

    Sorry to hear that you're ill, Matt. Personally I despise having a sore throat. I can literally deal with any other symptom associated with a cold or flu, but not that one. Not sure if they sell it on your side of the pond, but Tylenol Sore Throat syrup is the only thing I've found that works well, and instantly. It works so well and fast that after about a full minute, if you feel no relief, call up your doctor and make an immediate appointment because you have a serious infection in your throat. (Not even joking. Found that out on my own, the hard way.) Biggest issue with the syrup is liver damage. But you'd have to chug several gallons upon gallons of the syrup to actually do any damage to yourself. So, no worries there. As for the car, don't know what to say. ONLY $500 for one that runs *THAT* well and clearly has been taken care of? Wondering if the owner was desperate for money. Hopefully after 20+ years he just found another car he likes better, and just had no clue about pricing. Oh well, Cheers Matt. Hope you get better very very soon.

    Great video Matt. And nice to see you getting pleasure out of a twenty plus year old car. Maybe you could do a searching autotrader video where you do best viable bargains from the noughties where you have to select cars from 2000-2009? Viewers would be interested to know what to look out for when considering an older car. And what brands you’d most consider for cars of that era and age. (Thinking your old 300k miles road trip Volvo would have made that list!)

    Hi Matt, what a cracking beemer and certainly good enough to restore your spirits from the doldrums if you sell for £2.5k ...and someone gets a very nice car with a classic colour combo! Also, couldn’t help but notice as you arrived & corrected yourself on the colour (mystic) there was a silver soft top parked up a couple of bays away. Is that a future HPA episode waiting to be made?

    @AWMJoeyjoejoe well in all fairness this is wrong. The M54 engines were all straight 6s and it carried over from the previous 3 & 5 series but only for two years (53-54 plates) then they introduced the N46 for the 320/520i which was a 4 cylinder and then swapped it for the N43 which was another 4 cyl. Worst decision they ever made

  • @paultasker7788
    @paultasker77884 күн бұрын

    We had 320i growing up and part of the fun of the relatively gentle acceleration compared to the larger engines was that you got to hear that straight six sound track for longer. You also had to work it harder. Which it enjoyed. Was replaced with a 328 which he liked less as it was too quick. Then a 525i which he loved followed by a 535d which was much faster but lacked the glorious soundtrack

    In the car park it looked a little tired, but that is a lovely car. I was thinking "Why was it only £500?" but it just seems like a genuine bargain. That six cylinder sounded lovely as well. And they were the sort of car that someone upgraded from an old 90's Mondeo to. To quote Matt; That must've been some car when it was new.

    A great presentation of an excellent car. That 6 cylinder engine was - and is - silky smooth. I drove both an E reg "Mk1" 5 Series and an example of what you've got there. I can thoroughly recommend them. In fact, if I was in the market for such a car & didn't live 8 miles from Lowestoft, I'd buy it off you!
