sweet, I have a 2015 5.0. I want a gooseneck for ease of towing and the increase of capacity. I havent seen many using F150s to pull but I think it will be fine for a couple years until my business grows enough and I can get an F350

I highly doubt your f150 is rated for a 14,000 lb trailer the 14,000lbs is probably combined weight. My ford f250 combined weight rating is 18,000 lbs, but the gvwr for the truck is like 9,000 lbs. So that means my truck is meant to pull a trailer that is rated for 9,000 lbs, but I will admit that I do pull bigger trailers with it.

TBH I really don't know. I sold the truck and bought a 1 ton now, but the truck was rated for like 13,800 or something close to that, but I couldn't tell you if it was combined or gvwr. I'm pretty sure that was gvwr. The heaviest I ever was with it was 25,000lbs right on the dot when I scaled it on a certified scale at a gravel pit. (me, truck, trailer, skid steer, and some big decorative rocks) and honestly it wasn't as bad as everyone thinks it was. It's all in how you load the trailer, and obviously you cant put much towards the front because the truck cant handle much tongue weight, but when its well balanced out on the trailer it pulled super nice and easy, even with a lot of weight. It also stopped just fine because the truck has big brakes, and the trailer also has strong brakes. Only thing that sucked was when the trailer was empty/loaded light it would bounce and cause a lot of jerking back and forth.

My 2019 F150 is rated for gooseneck spec at 13,500 lbs. Beside that trailer is not 14k in weight probably on 6k in weight on empty trailer.

How’s the mpg pulling the trailer empty and loaded?

Surely shitty, those EcoBoost aren't meant to be poling all the time. We're I work we replaced them all the time because dumb ass people think is ok to pull with an engine that has a lot of stress on it already, so they always blow them up.

12 empty and 7-8 loaded. My wide wheels killed a lot of mpg plus the trailer weighed 5,210lbs empty. Stock wheels and a little lighter trailer would definitely get better fuel mileage

Never had a single issue with my truck the entire time I owned it, and I was hard on it for 70k miles. All about maintenance.

So overloaded. Get a F250. Bags or add leafs only level your ride with the weight. Your not doing shit for your truck physically

Apparently , you don't understand the concept of matching truck to trailer capacity......which involves (2) concepts , 1) Pulling , and MORE Importantly....STOPPING ! The first time you have some old Blue hair in a Caddy hit her brakes and you Can't stop and knock her all the way through the Intersection , and GET sued You'll grasp BOTH concepts more completely !

I never had an issue with stopping. Truck had big brakes and a brake controller for the trailer brakes. When heavy you slow down early and increase your following distance as-well just like I would with any other truck when towing. Truck was also rated to haul around 14k lbs so I was able to legally and safely haul roughly 8500lbs on the trailer.
