Watch as we test and review the Suchiyu SCY16201 Pro 1/16 Off Road Buggy - a great RC car for beginners and newbies. Perfect for those new to the hobby, this buggy is sure to provide hours of fun and excitement!
Today, we review the Suchiyu/SCY/JRC 16201 Pro 1/16 Off Road Buggy. This is a great bargain for under $100, and it's a great cars for kids or those new to RC cars. My five year-old grandson has a blast driving the car around.
It's built on a solid platform with a brushless motor and all metal parts in the drive train and wheel cups. The other great thing about these cars are that replacement parts are easily accessible on Amazon and especially Ali Express. It might take ten day to two weeks to receive them but you can find them and most all of the parts can be replaced with the small Phillips screwdriver that is provided with the car. It doesn't take any special tools to repair.
We're going to unbox this car, check out all of the features that come with it, see how fast it will go, and we'll take it for a test drive on pavement, grass, and gravel.

Maybe it's the audio but it sounds cheap and for the price I can get a losing mini b

I get what you're saying about the sound... It was definitely a little different then the other Suchiyu cars we've run that don't sound cheap at all. I haven't tried a Losi Mini B yet, so maybe we'll have check that out. Also, it looks like the Losi is priced at about $199 RTR. That's about double this car so I'm not sure we'd be comparing apples to apples. Thanks for the comment.
Plastic plastic plastic, the wl toys 144001 is so much better, and it allows bigger batteries, that one is limited to that size of battery, plus the shock towers are plastic.

You make a really good point. I haven't looked at WL Toys yet. We've been buying Suchiyu because it uses common parts among several different models. It also has a brushless motor vs a brushed motor on the WL 144001. I just looked at WL Toys 144001 on Amazon and you're right. It looks like for the money, it's got several better features i.e. oil filled metal shocks, metal shock towers, adjustable metal pull rods, etc. that the Suchiyu does not. And it's 1/4th scale. I'm not so sure about the metal chassis instead of plastic on this, and I wonder if it would bend when bashing as opposed to the plastic chassis which will flex. It looked so good on Amazon for just $99, I just ordered one so we'll give it a test and compare them side by side. Thanks for the comment.

Our title of "It was Awesome!" might be a little misleading, but it's what my five year old grandson had to say about it after driving it around for a while. Thanks for the comment.
