bought the ticova over the sihoo. man i wish i didnt listen to you. you fail to mention height, weight and everything else that makes a chair to unique to someone. the ticova seat depth is so poor that the edge of the seat reaches the middle of the thigh. this thing is completely unusable. as someone browsing for a new chair for over a year and watching countless of your videos, this completely ruined the credibility of your channel. if youre going to recommend a chair to someone, explain your height, weight and proportions first. unbelievable.
Man this is why it's so hard to find a good budget chair for me, I NEED to look at reviews and didn't know there was a website to rate the legitimacy of reviews. Really good channel and love the best chairs for a certain price range vids. Helps me get an idea especially since I'm somewhat tall and want a head rest

Just know that fakespot isn't great...
I really appreciate you guys sharing how you're able to find out the overall authenticity of an Amazon product review. This is definitely something that will be useful for me when buying from Amazon and hopefully help me to avoid products with a large number of fake reviews.
Watching you guys' videos over the last two days -- for years I've wanted a good home office chair with a headrest (either built-in or adjustable) to recline in and even take the occasional nap. It seems like the best choices are sub-$250 (Ticova and Clatina) or above-$1,000 (Leap v1 as the v2 seems to not have headrest support that I can find). Nothing worthwhile in the $300-$800 range. I do greatly appreciate your reviews of things like headrest comfort, armrest comfort, seat and back, recline comfort, etc.
Wish I had found the Millet chair when I was looking around a year ago. I ended up getting the Sihoo & so far it’s been great, I did add memory foam covers on the armrests. I also upgraded the gas piston with a beefier unit & swapped the wheels out. I was able to pick it up for $209 because they had a coupon when I bought it. I haven’t seen it that cheap since then though. After a year of use, it’s held up nicely & still looks & feels as good as it did brand new. It’s also a major upgrade from the crappy & uncomfortable “gaming” chair I used before.
I found a cheapy but nice office chair never used near a dumpster last week. Not a single mark on the PU leather. The adjustments work fine, no bugs, decent stuffing. No recline or tilt to mess up, though it does let you rock if you want to. Even the casters roll smooth. Even has a lumbar pad that is decent thickness. Like a lower management chair it is build sorta cheap but functions fine and is very comfortable if you sit in one spot for hours.
what I've been doing for like 15 years now, is going to the junkyard and pulling a nice seat out of a car. They're like $10-50 at most, and you can find some truly pristine seats. Currently using some 1980's toyota camry seats that spent their entire life with covers on them so they looked brand new. Bolt them to an old computer chair base using a piece of 3/4 inch plywood. Boom. perfect seat that lasts forever. Literally forever. The padding was made to never go flat. Tons of adjustment. Basically free. Only requires a drill, $5 in nuts/bolts/washers from the hardware store, and a tiny piece of plywood.

Just discovered this channel a few days ago after an arm on my desk chair finally snapped after 10 years. I started looking on Amazon and was overwhelmed, especially looking for something cheap. I narrowed it down to the Ticova or Clatina Mettle (or it's Giantex or Costway knock offs) thru your videos, and decided on the Ticova since it's $150 right now. I'm going to give it a shot and if it doesn't suit me I'll try the Clatina. Thank you guys for posting thorough, honest reviews of all these chairs. I've seen a few variations of the Oline's split back style, I've been curious how well these could work, at lest in concept and not always execution. I would think the deeper all-mesh lumbar would be more supportive than a one-piece back with a bar or foam pad for lumbar. I wonder how this kind of design would do with the material and method of Herman Miller's Sayl's back, a sculpted elastomer material in a suspension grid of varying thickness for varying compliance; might be a good match.
Great Video - I have had my eye on a few of these! Any idea why reviews/opinions on Herman Miller Verus are so limited? This seems like one of the more affordable HM Chairs but I can barely find a single KZread video on it!
Brilliant video. Question: @1:35 I couldn’t help noticing your beautiful desk. Where can I get that desk? Thank you

I got the Modway Ergo because of the steep discount (which probably reflects it's realistic market price). I've been using it for 2 weeks sitting in it for about 8 hours a day and I can say that it doesn't leave me with any pain or soreness and I'm a bigger guy. I find the cushioning in the seat to be comfortable and the back is supportive - but mostly on supportive. As you said, it doesn't work well for lounging. I was able to adjust the seat to make sure my feet are flat while not leaning forward putting pressure on my back. The arm rests have a funny ergos with the concave design, but it does seem to work well if you type "properly". I might still add something to the arm rests though for cushion.

Really appreciate the videos as I am looking for a nice chair for work/games ! What do you think about the Steelcase Please v2? Thanks!
I think it's sad how fake reviews are taking over Amazon, and I've learned my lesson 2 times now buying chairs from there - so I ended up at Office Depot, Ikea, and Staples a couple days ago and sat on all their chairs until I found one at Staples - a Beautyrest with 10 year limited manufacturer warranty and I got it for $279 on sale and added another 3 year protection for $50 where I get my money back no questions asked if I'm not happy. So far, it's working out great for me. I used to have an Aeron at my prior office job and that chair was SO comfortable, so I'm going to save up in a few years to get my hands on one. Also, for anyone considering gaming chairs, I sat on a few different ones at Staples and they were all terrible and no way can you last over 2 hours in one of those things.
I just had and sold the Sihoo due to moving. Overall I was very happy with it, except in cases where I would sit for a long time where the seat was too hard and caused pain. Glad to see there's a cheaper alternative and also a better one 😉

Hi there I’ve had to buy and return three chairs so far it’s so frustrating. With the ticova how soft is the lumbar support!?. I’ve seen a number of comments and reviews complaining the lumbar support is uncomfortable plastic and jabs into the back causing pain. I’m 6.2 and I need a comfortable lumbar support as if this chairs is painful it’s worse than not having the lumbar support there!. Thanks for any advice.
I’m stuck between this mellet or a renewed Mira/leap v2 from you guys so I get the 12 year warranty and the better chair, tough decision!
Question about the Mellet: Does the Headrest come with the chair? I can’t see it on the Website I’m looking at, and there’s no mention of it at all. I need a headrest with a chair as I suffer from Neck Pain and I need to rest it
Agreed on mellet. After your previous 300 dollar video, got the Mellet. It is really good. And I weigh 230, and 6feet height. I usually use the chair 4-7 hours a day, and it is holding up great. I would also say, yes the lumber is annoying, and without it the chair feels much better. However, sometimes if you need some(or any) lumber for some time, you have the option to put it back in, so that is great. Keep up the great and non biased reviews 👍.

FYI that link to the Mellet shows a price of 429.99$ now.
okay so i bought the ticova chair because I thought it was the best but, the lumbar support cuts into your back causes uncomfortable pain, the headrest has limited articulation, should've been double jointed, it was easy to put together but not worth spending 250.
THANK you for this video. I've actually been in the market on Amazon for a chair for the last week and I've been struggling to find a reliable chair. I feel like Amazon has become a cesspool of fake reviews and sellers using lame SEO tactics to get their sub-par products as high up as possible in search results. Sorry this is long, but I could use some help. I have a Secret Labs Omega at home, and it's great for short (sub 3 hour) sessions (I find the seat too firm). Though I do wish it had a bit better lumbar support since my back injury. It fits a lot like the seats in my Mitsubishi honestly. That being said at my shop (where I spend most of my time) I have a really soft 10+ year old (executive style?) computer chair. It's really comfortable when sitting in it, but I pay for it later with back pain. Especially the week I worked 70+ hours. So I'm looking for something to replace it. I don't mind spending some money for a decent chair. But I'm not putting a $700+ chair in a shop either... The second chair you showed looked promising with the adjustable lumbar and mesh back. Do you have any other recommendations that may help me out? Thanks!
I got the Ticova, and the only issue I have with the chair is the way the recline tension seems to work. It only tightens the tension for the initial 10-15 degrees of recline, and then is completely useless. The chair is nearly perfect, for the price, in every other way, but not being able adjust recline tension for the higher recline degrees, has me leaning towards returning it.

Crazy that this is selling in Europe for as the Ergotopia Nextback for €440. That's $471. Nuts.
Like most modern products chairs are a suckers game, a 1 year warranty for a chair tells me it is designed to fail garbage. Clatina is 1500€ in EU lol
Customer reviews are pretty close to useless. The experience and motivation to post reviews of random consumers is in almost no way indicative of the quality or suitability of a product. Most 5 star reviews say something along the lines of , "I don't know anything about this product or any similar products, but I bought this one and I love it.

"i like it and because i like it, it is 5 stars " " i dont liked the color 1 Star "
The Clatina has a lot of QC complaints in the reviews. I would order if they can guarantee they're going to be new.

It does look like they have some complaints, but it is a $199 chair so that should probably be expected -GK

@@btodtv It should not be expected because the complaints aren't about the build quality but that they are sending used chairs including ones still with stain marks on them. From product to product, the quality should be consistent.

@@17teacmrocks Wow, that's illegal if they're sending out used chairs to customers who clearly ordered brand new chairs.

I ended up buying a Leap V2. I got a better price for it fully loaded and figure it wasn't worth the hassle of trying to go cheap on something I spend so many hours in. It was either this, Amia (similar price after discount), or Aeron + Atlas (too expensive without a way to try it out nearby).
people on amazon are having problems with the wheel base plastic failing along with the gas lift, falls through the base and hits the floor, some say after 6months of use

Yea, that's kind of the problem with this price range. The biggest issue is the quality. It is tough to find something in this price range that is void of any problems when it comes to quality. -RB
Bro "only" 219 bucks? you know how much money that is ? for something you sit on

Yea, very familiar. This is on the low end of the spectrum which is why I say “only”. This is a low price for an office chair. -RB
The Sihoo is $140 after $50 coupon right now (2023-07-18)
This clatina mellet is being sold for 624$ on sale where I'm at 💀 I live in canada so the price range shouldn't differ that heavily, i guess inflations a bitch

IMO an issue with these chairs is that even for ones that are comfortable, the build quality is often poor and the adjustment mechanisms break easily (especially the backrest tilt lock)
