I was in college and the professor said multiple times before the class started the final day I was in college, if you overload the LED, and it pops, you will be expelled. Students used to do this for years, and one day someone had their eye taken out by the LED popping. So, we were recording the voltage and the resistance readings and the amps, etc .. I saw my resistance go to zero and I was not paying attention to how much voltage was going into it. I was trying to figure out why I had zero resistance and no light when it popped, like this, and the LED went flying and hit the ceiling. The professor was out of the room and he came back in and I just collected my books and left quietly. He looked really upset I wanted to tell him it was an accident, but I knew it would make no difference. If people had not been doing this all the time, and caused an accident that injured someone, I would have been able to tell him it was an accident and I was sorry. But people being reckless in class cost me my degree
