I Beam Bench Build

The 2nd of 3 videos showing a commissioned build for Bitwise of Fresno. These benches are made from pre-cut 14" I-beams and construction lumber. Finished in the shou sugi ban style of burning wood, they look great and are solid as can be!
Last week was an amazing wall treatment that anyone can do:

Before you mentioned the difficulty with drilling, I was thinking how I often forget to grab my #2 or #3 center drill when drilling steel. It makes a world of difference. You can get them anywhere metal working shops order their cutting tools from or on the most widely known online store. (I’m a machinist, so I know you will appreciate this tip) great video. I’m going to go try making some myself now.

New subscriber! I was amazed at your workspace as much as the build. Chickens in the shop?! I'm just looking forward to a nine foot by three foot workbench in my garage! Very nice - I've seen the Japanese burning technique before, but yours was much prettier!

I love the music, hate the build... lol, just kidding the build was great! Love how you used the Ibeams. I have been planing a bench build featuring an I beam but intend to use the beams in the other direction.

Anywhere you are going to make a weld, take a grinder and clean the scale of where your 2 pieces of metal meet. after you do it one time you will see what im talking about. the weld will be alot stronger plus your puddle/weld will be easier to push thus making a smooth weld

making stuff look perfect in a location that someone will never see is NOT neurotic it is called good craftsmanship. Of course I do that so, I am not sure you should talk my word for it.

unusual music choice but........doyouknowhat......I liked it. great build. wish I could weld. I have an arc welder but am crap with it. just need to practice I guess. you've just given me the push needed by posting this video. incidentally. what are the KZread rules regarding using music on video as I wish to make some myself in the future and I don't want to get into trouble?

Got a scribe here, nice work, i can tell you know what you're doing but for the life of me and i see most every creater on the tube do this, but why did you not grind the scale off the steel before you weld. I welded and fabricated mining equipment and would have been fired on the first-time I did that. Your welds were great but they are full of trash from the scale. Please set me straight on this, drives me nuts
