  • @ellsbells823

    So, japanese egg salad sandwiches are different than others due to the use of japanese mayo, which has more yolk content and is much richer with a deeper egg flavor. Shokupan, japanese milk bread, is sweeter and fluffier with a bouncy texture due to the use of hot water when being made. They don't add mustard or milk either to the egg salad either, just the mayo, egg, and salt and pepper. Way better than American egg salad. But it's just as good on normal white bread! About 1-1.5 TBSP of japanese mayo per egg if anyone was looking :)

    Japan foods is not Muslim friendly. It's not just about pork and non-halal meat. The seasoning also need to be considered. Mirin (usual Japanese seasoning) is not halal. We doesn't eat non-halal food. That's why Muslim usually only eat fish, seafood and eggs when they travelling.

    I'm not sure which Americans you are referring to. But as a North American from the southern part of the United States, everyone I know loves vegetables. They may not love every vegetable, but there is always some kind of vegetable for everyone to eat. I was personally raised eating beans, potatoes, tomatoes, corn, Okra, zuchinni, all greens, including going out into the wild just to pick a good mess of poke salad. We were raised growing gardens, and canning/freezing was a huge part of our upbringing. It is a lot easier for people to buy canned goods and frozen food these days, but it is still customary to have vegetables on the table at dinner. With more people working and fast food restaurants on every corner, it is harder to keep up with the traditions of the past. But the Americans I know do their best to provide nutritious meals for their families.

    We had curried egg sandwiches a lot in the 1960s in Australia. My dear mother gave me a plate of them to take to the school Xmas party in 5th class and everyone said "poooo, who brought them?"😂 I had to wait until everyone left to throw them away and get the crockery plate. I told mum they loved them

    Technology it's not Japanese. Egg salad is believed to originate in Britain or France depending on who you ask. It's first publication as an egg salad sandwich itself was in the US in 1800s. Although without John Montagu and Duke De Richelieu we wouldn't have it at all.

    It's the Japanese version of an egg salad sandwich. Same type of deal but tastes different. Both the filling and the bread in the Japanese one is fluffier and sweeter. The Japanese palate tends to prefer milder, but more umami flavors. That's why they wouldnt be adding pickles or pickle juice to this like some people suggested. It's the same concept as how Japanese styled pasta is pretty different than Italian pasta. Italians would never call that pasta.

  • @rosecheawu1945
    @rosecheawu1945 Жыл бұрын

    The problem is that some of you think it tastes the same as your egg salad sandwiches. Can confirm that Japanese egg salad sandwiches taste different. I always eat them from our local Japanese markets. It's in the taste and texture of the bread and the mayonnaise. I also love Japanese egg salad sandwiches. And no to the pickle juice or celery, etc. Adding those would make it definitively not the Japanese style, which is spare and simple and sometimes paired with lettuce & tomato or cucumber, but they never add extra mixins to the egg part.

Once the boiled eggs are peeled, they go into a bowl still warm with mayo a lil mustard,( new idea for me) and a little garlic powder. I even warm the bread. Warmth is the name of the egg salad game for me. Also, there's something about oven cooked french fries and Earl grey hot tea with lots of Bliss creamer that goes along with it. I even like warmed sweets - cake, muffin's etc..Well happy eating. Bon appetit!!! Now, I want some egg salad with it's accompanying sides. Lol. Try ur egg salad sandwich warm . U might like it.
