Cool stuff. You are honest about this and what you’re doing. Nothing like these disgusting kids making songs like “I pulled out on my wife last night” (1958) obscure vinyl. I really don’t know why KZread isn’t take down those videos. They’re not from the era and are then added to feeds that feature music from that time. It’s why KZread needs serious help ending that garbage.

@purplestuff THANK YOU! I think what is happening is the people making those songs are intentionally labeling them from .the wrong years. And if you’re into older songs, the algorithm isn’t sophisticated enough to detect its AI. I like songs like this because they’re VERY HONEST about what they are. I’m seriously wondering why KZread isn’t taking down songs that not only don’t clarify they’re AI, but also that deliberately give a wrong year. These are the kind of creations we need. Thanks for posting! Do more please.

@@STVYT If you haven't checked it out there's an AI version of Junior Wells singing "It's Your Voodoo Working" that was made with his estates permission. It's uncanny how accurate it is!

Michael McDermott, is that you? If yes, I stand corrected, what have you got to lose; using AI to create tunes won't have any impact on you, but it will have an impact on great songwriters--and no, I don't include myself in that list, but I'm creative enough in my own way!

This project/video has nothing to do with Michael McDermott. I throw a few videos of him playing live as I am a huge fan of his. As for your other comments I understand where you are coming from. I write my own songs. This was specifically created as a proof of concept and experiment for if AI could do the whole thing. you don’t like it that’s totally fine you don’t have to like it. You interacted with the video which helps me out which I appreciate. Stay tuned for more AI music although where I write the lyrics myself and I use AI simply because I don’t have five different full bands at my disposal to accommodate the vastly different genres of songs that I write.

How much work did you put into it? Did you write the song and then just seek AI for vocalists and instrumentation? I'm curious!

For my actual songs for an upcoming mixtape that I am about to release that is the approach. I am a songwriter and lyricist. However in this case I wanted to see 100% what AI could do on its own. I provided only the song title And a few Motown artists that I wanted to emulate. This took of course multiple AI tools and then audio editing. The whole “I asked AI trend “--it always is more complicated than that.

Great job of creating a song from that era, but doesn't sound like a "Motown" song to me.

No way does this sound remotely like a tamla Motown record. What you forgot was that soul music is all about human emotion something computers cannot replicate.I heard it but could not feel it. Rest easy Berry this is never going to replace your fabulous real music.

Fortunately to my gratitude and surprise it is the vast minority… But I think there is a vast minority of people in the comments that are completely misunderstanding the purpose of this. This is meant to be completely non-partisan. This is simply a proof of concept for using AI for every step of the songwriting process other than of course me producing it. Also as you can see with the unity colors this is meant to be a tribute to the amazing artists which comprised Motown.

Why would a songwriter of any worth want to make the whole songwriting process obsolete! The more that music is cheapened the less musicians will be appreciated or needed! Music was becoming more artificial as it was; clever technology but it will end up rendering all future music worthless!

Already practically impossible for real music to get heard and devaluing/cheapening, the process to this extent will be the final nail in the coffin! Still, all that praise you are receiving for creating totally artificial so-called music clearly makes you feel like you've achieved something, as you say, you're glad you did it, but what a pity all that praise isn't to someone who makes real music, someone responsible for creating every note, every word, themselves. It equates to painting by numbers impressing the world more than the works of Rembrandt, Van Gogh and the rest! What you and many others are proving is that AI is a curse that will suck all the joy out of life.

There’s no womp womp. There’s no argument here. If you want to hear a full album in which I did all the songwriting, all the performing, all the mixing/production, played all the instruments and did all the vocals and recorded all of the samples myself and finalized everything, go look at my channel for the album called the edge case sessions. I also released a mixtape using AI production but all of the songs were written by myself. I’m not advocating for using AI to replace any of these processes I am currently using it to create demos to pitch my songs to full bands to record them. As I’ve said multiple times now this particular post is nothing more than a singular proof of concept. People seem to be getting offended and wanting to attack something that is really just a technological showcase and not meant to start a movement or create an opinion… This is nonpartisan and it’s no different than Apple launching the next iPhone.
