@jackjames7283 Which is why it's an attack on democracy as well as justice. The rule of law is a central pillar of democracy and it means the judicial branch must work independently from the legislative and executive branches. In other words, political interference in the justice system is anti-democratic and a slippery slope to kangaroo courts in banana republics.

I suppose Romney was implying that Biden should pardon Trump for all of the crimes, indictments, felonies that are federal...and coerce the state authorities to drop their investigations as well. I usually can find common cause with Romney but he just went of the rails. The problem isn't that Joe Biden is enabling Trump to become even more popular with Republicans. It's that Republicans have zero courage to fix/course correct their party...and to tell their constituents the actual truth. Romney has tried to do this. But honestly, his party along with Mitch failed miserably to hold Trump accountable when he was impeached. Mitch could have removed Trump from the equation. But instead GOP leaders refused ...they lacked the courage and integrity. Romney was one of a tiny sliver of repubicans who voted to remove Trump. So don't keep blaming Democrats for Trump manipulating the media and manipulating the Republican leadership. That's on them. But we should all agree that no one is above the law....ESPECIALLY THE PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES!

"Trump faces four criminal charges of conspiring to defraud the government and disenfranchise voters, and corruptly obstructing an official proceeding. [2] This case includes Trump's involvement in the January 6 U.S. Capitol attack." Wikipedia. The documents case is federal and the election interference case, the other two are state. Let's hope he knows the difference. The state cases are why Trump wants the immunity from the Supreme Court. They seemed to be talking about the federal cases to me.

He is wrong, but I think it's like Joe said: Romney thinks he's being a peace broker, above the fray, by saying this. But it contradicts his own vote to convict Trump. Republicans like Mitch McConnell said "we don't need to convict him here because the courts can do it." Of course now they say, "well he was already impeached and so the courts shouldn't be taking this up." It's a stupid game, but one that Romney was smart to avoid until now. I don't know why he thinks he needs influence within the party, since he is retiring. So, he's kind of muddying his legacy here.

WASHINGTON DC WALLSTREET INC IS A CLUB. A THOROUGHLY SEAMLESS CORRUPT GOVERNMENT INSTITUTION from the judiciary to the executive branch. Regardless of what party is currently in the majority. The corruption has become more blatant and accepted overtime for those who have primarily BENEFITED. Listening to Romney slither... continue to attempt to justify and be an apologist for one of the most BLATANTLY CORRUPT, TWO-BIT SHYSTER CON-Artists who have ever occupied the office of the Presidency is despicable beyond articulation.
