Mate it’s a defender. Being shit and old is part of the charm and that carries over to the parts. If you wanted it to work perfectly every time you’d have bought a Land Cruiser and you’d have already sold it because you’d be bored.

My D90 does the same ever since I put the roof tent on, 75kg up high just makes it sway like crazy I thought I had a flat at one point 🤣

Full respect for being honest, not everything works and it’s best to show that.

You could always mount a GoPro under the chassis while you're driving to see if the problem is that 40mm slack in the hub. Would also just be a cool angle for the video if you did some green laning with a GoPro underneath 😆

Lengthen the anti roll bar links to account for the slack in the hubs you have lifted suspension and worn old parts try that before buying a new on

But do it while there is weight on the suspension to get the proper preload of the bar and adjust end links to suit and It should fix that. Id also touch base with the company specifically relating to the slack manner to make sure it’s not crazy out of spec also for some piece of mind.

Can't adjust those links when there is Weight on them. Attach the bar to the chassis remove both links then measure from the bolt hole on then bottom to the bolt hole on the top. measure the link to the same length and fit personally I'd lengthen the link further for extra stiffness

My e70 x5 diff blew last week - absolute pos. Can feel your pain with the defender. Saw some suggestions for poly bushings and if you haven't changed them, definitely might be worth it!

Check out Alive tunings Eibach anti roll bar, absolute game changer on the road! And it's easy enough to undo a couple of bolts for off roading if absolutely necessary.

Agreed I have the same on my 90. It rails around corners now ……… well in defender terms it does, it’s no M3😊

Swap out your handbrake lever for a discovery 2 handle. It’s the best mod I have done. So much leg room

Just full polybush your landrover and polybush the arms, makes a huge difference, drives amazing when done

My 1990 range rover classic vogue had no anti roll bar as standard. So I fitted Pro Comp double acting gas shocks to all 4 corners and what a difference to body roll.

Gutted it didn't work out for you, after you went to great lengths to rebuild it too. Always the way, I've been there a few times myself. 😂

If you went from foam cell shocks to any other style shock it will do the same affect my Landcruiser has the same issue once buying new shocks that weren’t foam cell

Mate I spent £600 fixing my old 05 car up put new clutch in then driveshaft went because mechanic fucked up ended up loosing £360 extra on it and lost my job same week, best thing is car is not worth more than £1.2k 😂

So my 90 doesn't have anti roll bars, it's on medium duty springs and terrafirma all terrain shocks, it bounces about but doesn't away like yours, Have you checked all your sway bars etc? Might be worth going to poly bush all around might help

Could be wrong but that's just a generic locking from most old 4wd so having it in 4x4 would actually engage the hub and lock the anti roll bar not 4x2, try driving it with the arb hub in 4x4
