    For your videos just be yourself. Seriously. I personally think you'd be really good at vlogging videos, which would basically just be you talking about what you do on a daily basis and what you like to do. you could also talk about your career more and show us some of your co-workers (if you have any lol i don't know if you work alone or not). I think it would also be really fun to learn more about your personality in general. Just some suggestions :)

    Hi, Scarlet! I'm one of your new subscribers and I found your videos through a randomly generated link because I love learning about illnesses and ailments. I found I really liked your content, and was and still am, very interested in learning more about your life as a performer! People will either love you or hate you here, don't let it bug you. Something common now is weekend vlogs? Maybe start there? Or just performing for us would be rad! Xoxoxo I'm so glad you want an interactive audience!!

    I just found your channel and love it! I'm a fellow zebra, I have both type 3 and 4 (hypermobility and vascular), and I just want to say thank you for helping raise awareness for EDS! It's awesome that you can turn this disorder into a positive career! I've always wanted to do aerial silks and contortion acts, but sadly my body has been through too much to pursue those. However, my mom and I have an equine assisted therapeutic riding facility, Kingman's Healing Hooves, and through that I can help fellow zebras and strengthen my own body. It would be awesome to see more of your routines/acts. You're very talented and have such a positive outlook on life and having EDS! ❤

    Day in the life is such a great leeway into the community. It shows us more of you and get to know you. Maybe after that maybe Q&A's and contortion/EDS videos.(explanation of what both are, how your journey with both are.) Since they are separate things you can even do a 'contortion Monday' (or any day of the week) showing us a trick or stretch. Idk I'm not too creative.

    Hi Scarlett ! I have some questions: what parts of your body are hypermobile? what contortion tricks were you able to do before training contortion or stretching? before starting the training, how deep could you backbend? is it possible to be hypermobile in the spine, wrists, ankles, but at the same time have stiff hips, shoulders? thank you, you are amazing :)

    The good news is; if you do start doing this regularly, you'd be the purest person on this platform. My advice, is don't get caught up in the ballgame of youtube, just stay true to you and do make videos that you want to make. There is clearly an interest in you as a person, like you're very natural on camera and really easy to listen to. Like, I don't really have an interest in contortion stuff, but I'm subscribed because you seem like such a awesome person. For the connecting with your audience part, I suppose you could do a livestream? I mean it may not be your cup of tea, but it would allow you to interact with your audience live.

    Personally, I'd love to see how you stretch or warm up, even if it seems silly or boring to you! From someone just starting to get into contortion, it's really nice to see an accessible personality such as yourself doing what they love so well, it's inspiring and encouraging. I found your channel from your "needle through hand" video, but what interested me was that you are a contortionist, and I was interested because I am hypermobile in similar ways to you. I used to be in constant pain from my joints and spine despite working out actively all my life, but your videos helped inspire me to keep up the deep stretching and practicing poses, and now I have almost no pain each day. My joints click and pop a bit more often now but I've had fewer dislocations and just overall feel comfortable day-to-day, so thank you for kickstarting this practice into my life. I hope you are hugely successful and happy!

I'm a Gemini, it will probably pass, but I have begun an exercise routine to increase flexibility and managed to maintain it. My question is, what do you eat to maintain a flexible body? Are you vegan? What is the business like, is it a 9 to 5 job, or scheduled strictly, is it hard to break into or get jobs? What are the people like? And... Etc. Etc. More about you other than the contortionist stuff would be cool, get to know you a bit. Other interests and hobbies? Geek?

    how did u found out that you have EDS?

  • @gilbertnelson7793
    @gilbertnelson77937 жыл бұрын

    Scarlett, there was a burlesque performer who, like you, had EDS. Her act was very different from what I've seen other performers do. Her act was one consisting of her lying on beds of spikes, and beds of sword blades, but because of her stretchy skin, the weapons appeared to be penetrating her flesh, but when she arose from her torture bed, she was unharmed. Her name was Heather Bea, and her act was so damn convincing, that some people were alleged to have fainted at the sight of #20 or #30 common nails penetrating this lovely woman's tender flesh. She also claimed to "test" she sharpness of her swords on her tongue, also a very convincing part of her act. If you could duplicate her act, I'm convinced that you would have a most unique act that no other performer is currently doing.

  • @ScarletCheckersForever

    @ScarletCheckersForever

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi Gilbert! Thanks for your comment. The bed of nails act and bed of swords act are actually very common, classic sideshow acts that have been performed for many decades by different performers. I assure you that MANY performers are currently doing both of those acts, haha. And if I was trying to be unique, "duplicating" someone else's act is not exactly the route I would opt for. In fact, I do already have a few signature acts that nobody else currently performs, or has ever performed. Also, "convincing" is not usually a term used to describe sideshow stunts, because they are all real. They are not magic tricks, so there is no convincing necessary. :) I am glad this performer made an impression on you, and I urge you to attend similar variety shows whenever you get a chance. If the bed of nails was exciting to you, then you will surely be mindblown by some of the more extreme acts that my fellow sideshow artists and I are currently performing.

    For not being a KZreadr, you sure are Youing the hell out of the Tubes. I'm sure you've already learned by now, which you are doing in this video, just talk to the camera as if you're talking to one single person. It makes your audience very comfortable and gives them the personal feeling that you are indeed talking to them. I myself find it impossible to look away from you. You're not only incredibly stunning, but you have a personality that practically leaps out of the screen and attaches itself to the viewer, much like the facehugger from Alien. Only your personality doesn't lay an egg inside of my body and burst out of my chest. Damn shame, because I would love to be bursting with your personality. Keep being you, because you're damn good at it. And that is the secret of being a KZreadr. If you can resist the incessant need to tell people to "smash your like button", that would be great. Nearly every KZreadr says it, and it's annoying. Everyone knows how the like button works by now. Considered me subscribed, S.C. and in love from afar. It's cool. I'm very good at one-sided, long distance, non-relationships.

Don't do videos just for the crowd, that leads to unhappy youtubers. A good way to connect is with giving out your online accounts. (Which you did) and responding to comments (which you do). Being a KZreadr 101: make a video, upload it to KZread. There you go. No but really, there's no like "way" to be a youtuber. As for what videos to make, make videos about whatever you want to. If you want to show some random strangers how to do some cool stretchy thing, do that. If you want to show how you do your makeup, do that. If you feel like randomly talking about a thing some person did that's bothering you, or that you thought was funny, do that. Your channel is really whatever you want it to be. And as far as being connected to the audience, q&as are great. I think the feeling of talking to a camera is something that just kind of is there for a while. Pick something you want to talk about it and talk about it. I think it would be really cool if you were a youtuber. You seem like a cool and interesting person who would have a lot to share with the world, so ya... I'm hanging around for a while, and I'm sure other people will too.

    If you self-identify as a clowntortionist, record yourself doing clowntortionist-y things. That should be unique enough enough to stand out on KZread.
