    I have that same grease gun you can dial in how many pumps you want it to put out, them make a clear tube for it to see the level of grease in it and you can also fill those from a bulk grease container as well cause there is a built in fitting on their that allows for filling from bulk grease containers.

    You can drill a 3mm hole in the dust covers and that will help to stop the cover from coming off and will also indicate when the hub is full

    Yes. I have experienced the "Ghost Grease Loss" too. Sometimes the whole gun is lost. It's a real thing. lol

    I have experienced the grease ghost thing. There is also a propane tank ghost, and a chainsaw ghost. I think your idea for a Milwaukee Rotary Magazine Street Sweeper Grease Gun is great. Only it would still be empty.

    A Cummins ISX in-frame rebuild is about $35k. For a Mercedes I would guess about $10k more. I have read in the comment it was $75k. I would have tried to swap a new Cummins in.

    empty grease guns have the same problem as a pair of socks in the wash. One always goes missing. Good luck with the grease gun. The missing socks are easy, buy many identical pairs soi you always have a pair!!! I enjoy your attitude and the videos are interesting, a new subscriber!

    There was only enough grease in the gun because you were talking about it. Like when someone asks me to help fix their computer and they say is the problem is happening all the time and when I go to fix it the problem stops happening all on its own. Then a month later it starts happening again.

    That’s the most expensive engine rebuild I e personally ever heard of . Although I’m sure marine engines are way above that . Let’s hope you get many more years of service from that sprayer

    t he other problem of over greaseing bearing hubs you risk pushing the axle seal out and letting dirt in to ghe bearing in the case of atrailer letting greese into the brakes

    My son is a new Mercedes Tech at 20 years old. He said a least $50,000.00 for the rebuild which does not include the cost for removal or reinstallation of the engine into the sprayer. Most of the Mercedes engines are still hand assemble and built and not computer assembled-built. It is possible the engine was sent back to the person who first did the engine assembly new and they rebuilt it? Bob

    As someone who knows what an engine for a big truck costs, from my over 32 years experience driving OTR, I'm going to guess a little higher than a truck. 40K for a rebuild, for an out of frame.

    A 2.2 liter Cat skid steer motor rebuild was 12,000 3 years ago , not installed. I have seen some of these sprayers for sale around a half a million.

    Interesting observation; I've noticed some areas of the country, i.e. iowans, Ohions, etc.. call Grease "greeze"; I figured Nebraskans did too; not Cale!! He says "greese"! Lol! And absolutely agree with Cale that it never fails that the grease tube always seems to run out mid-job

    Thanks for the sprayer update, but sorry to learn the engine rebuild expense. Holpefully never have to deal with that again. For what it's worth. Guy down the road has an older Rogator sprayer. Seized up. Don't know what brand engine in it. Around $12K for rebuild in Fort Wayne. There are 2 shops in Fort Wayne Indiana that rebuild every kind of diesel engine from your pick up truck, fire trucks, semi's to school buses.

    hey Cale, have a look at "Bearing Buddies". Zirk in the end of the hub for easy access, spring-loaded outer hub piston/seal manages hub grease and level. As your hub grease subsides, the piston retracts giving you a grease level gauge.

    Milwaukee grease gun has a gauge pull the back handle out and it will show you how much grease you have eg 1/4 1/2

    When I was an aircraft mechanic we had a pneumatic "grease pot" that held about about 10 pounds of grease connected to an air powered grease gun. It was always empty too! 🤣

    We still have them and nobody uses them. We all grab the battery powered guns. It's weird how they have allowed us to transition over from air powered tools to mostly battery powered. Jet fuel isn't as dangerous as avgas was when they wrote the rules. I still love my Sioux pneumatic drill for sheet metal work though. Battery drills just aren't as smooth.

    @@agger838 We had a crank break on a combine 15 years ago under warranty , but a new engine was $80k back then .(John Deere had a new engine shipped and installed in 36 hours.)

    @@agger838 Pretty sure he bought a rebuilt engine based on him saying they "lost"the engine, it blew up. Oil warning , it stopped running, and there was oil under the engine . Likely a rod thru the pan or the block.
