    I stumbled across your channel this evening and have been spellbound by your stories from various parts of Norway. Then I watched this one. It made my day. My father was born in Finnskogen . When I was 18 years old we traveled from Canada as a family and visited relatives in Solar. (not sure of the spelling) . We spent a week in the area and saw the house Dad was born in and worked on his cousin's farm. My grandfather was a logger and flouted logs down Gloma River. My grandparents and my father and his two brothers emigrated to Canada in 1926 and settled in Alberta. This video brought back great memories for me. Thank you.

    Ah how cool! I loved Finnskogen, it really has this mythical feeling to it. So much history. Both good and bad like most other places in Norway, but still very interesting. So glad my video could bring back some memories

    Thank you for another lovely video Maria, superbly crafted with some lovely shots and excellent editing as always. It's lovely to see Norway from your perspective out on the road. I hope you can have a nice rest now before needing to pack a bag again.

    Oh my goodness! The forest & all that scenery! Majestic! I know it can get tiring but ya’ll are so fortunate to see such varying landscapes! Sooo different from my world here in the states! Worlds different! You live in southern Norway? And Bergen was west coast? Which is the most beautiful? How are the economy’s? That drought area…, sad. So many natural disasters spread about. Seems (to me) you have a hold on the meaningful life. And your off to Northern Norway? Woowzers! Lots of packing! Where is your man’s families home? I can tell you love love your partner! I laughed like that once over my spouse. I was giddy for a time too. It makes memories so enjoy. Life’s journey changes. People die, people get sick, they change, we change, circumstances alter…. Yet it’s all the journey of life. Enjoy the stage you are in now because as you trail along…, life does change. Really nice you have a compatible partner. Don’t feel bad about you (though we all do at times! We are imperfect humans. I get tired of skimming through some influencers videos. Some are pathetically shallow, self absorbed, sad. Litterally it’s showing their bodies & all the free jewelry & clothes they are gifted, the stupid shots with tongues out…how can a body be happy with such self focused existences? I couldn’t. I feel for them. Preparing for their plastic surgeries, to “give meaning to their lives?” I don’t get how that could be joy. It’s refreshing to see you actually live a life beyond yourself. How did you get started with foraging. It’s not that kind of terrain here. Maybe in more rural mts but it’s overpopulated & touristy too. Look forward to more traveling w/ you. Thanks for sharing. Ahhhh, you mentioned a thrift store! Yeay!

    Thank you! I love it so much, and I feel very lucky I get to see all of these things, even though the tours get a bit tiring sometimes. It's all worth it! We live in south-eastern Norway, not the very south. But it still goes as south when we talk about this loong country in bigger terms. Bergen is on the west coast yes. The west coast is more spectacular for sure, high mountains and deep valleys, waterfalls and loooots of rain and dark clouds. Where we live there is more forest, and mountains are less pointed if that makes sense. I still think both places are beautiful. Economy wise I think it changes from municipality to municipality, so not so much from south to west. Not the best economy in our home area. Thank you for the reminder to enjoy life here and now, I will! My partners family home is in Bergen, which is on the west coast! It is the next biggest city in Norway where I lived for 6 years. Lots of love to you in your part of the world

    ...I'm so glad there is Bendik in your life! In my life story I've come to deeply believe in marriage, that doesn't kill creativity, it enhances it, provided you both TRULY love each other... I'm now fifty-six years of age, and about five years ago I met a woman whom since some time I wish to marry... I know it's a bit late, but I want love and joy, for the remainder of my life!☺

    P.S.- how do Norway & Sweden differ?

  • @Mariaandtheforest

    @Mariaandtheforest

    Жыл бұрын

    Honestly I have not been to sweden so many times. But I think for one the countryside here in Norway is a bit more populated, because of the way they have been doing politics around districts. More tall mountains in Norway, but you can find it in sweden too 😊. Thats about all I know
