Dear Njoki, a letter from my heart to you. Just like you, I heard on a popular radio station that for a single Mum of a boy to marry, chances are just 30% whereas for a girl is 70%. Well, just like you, my childhood desire was to have a happy family but this did not happen as I walk away from two very abusive come we stay relationships with seven children, three girls and four boys, yes, you read correct, just like you. GOD Is faithful and able and so when I turned to HIM, HE matched me up with a wonderful, wonderful man who proposed and paid dowry for me just two weeks after our meeting. Is anything hard for the LORD? May that be your position. Amen

I would encourage that before a person gets into marriage, should ask themselves, can i sacrifice for my other? selfishness is number one killer of relationships. and once you get into a relationship to get something, your relationship stops being personal and becomes business.

People need to stop the phobia of being called a single parent. People are losing their lives and happiness just coz they fear being called single. Some become single out of circumstances and others out of choice, either way, society ought to stop being judgmental. It is about time we accept that single parent households constitute a significant proportion of our communities and are here to stay.

I would say that you cannot lie to yourself, and living under abuse will cause so much trauma and harm to yourself and your children if have them. Make a decision to put yourself first, forget about society expectations and live for you. Violence in relationships is very toxic and the psychological effect on the victim and kids is detrimental
