Lake of the Clouds hut is amazing!! So happy you are loving the Presidential range. It was so nerve racking watching you in that wind. Holy crap!!! Leo is a little trooper! ♥️🐾 Loved seeing you at the summit!! That weather can be very scary up on those summits. 🙏🏼 glad you made it safely!! Thank you God for keeping you and Leo safe! Jeez!!!!

Glad you are safe and that you got some great views early in the day. It's not one of the deadliest mountains for nothing. If you are heading up in the Whites it's always best to check the Mt Washington Observatory higher summits forecast. Weather apps are not able to predict mountain weather- especially up there where things are extra volatile. I know you are already through there, but maybe it can help one of your viewers.

Been there, done that - I call it 'exquisitely dangerous.' One 4th of July weekend, the winds were gusting to 98 mph and the wind chill was 2°. Had a couple of youngsters with me and they were regularly being blown off the trail multiple times. Welcome to the White Mountains. Be well, stay safe. 🥾

Mt. Washington with that weather and wind is legend especially with a bleeding tongue. Nothing is as dangerous on the AT as this section. We send you continued wishes and prayers for a safe journey and completion of your journey. The AT is a 2100 mile obstacle course plus frequent extreme weather challenges- you did it, Buddy! You probably needed stitches on that tongue! Fortunately, mouths heal pretty fast. Impressed by this video, very impressed.

Eshhh, that was crazy. That was a very challenging day. I hope you dont encounter that kind of wind again. The wind at 70 mph adds about 12.5 psf of wind pressure against your body. That's a lot added to the weight of your pack. Just so happy you guys made it through to a shelter. You must have really bit hard on your tongue for it to bleed all day like that. Hope you got it taken care of and you and Leo were able to rest up a bit before taking off. Be safe, my friends❤ ❤ to Leo ✌️🫶

I can still feel the bruise on my leg from wiping out on the CraPa just below Washington a couple weeks ago! 4 different weather patterns merge on top of Washington therefore it always creates its own weather patterns. You must be prepared for all weather situations during all seasons in the Whites. Glad you both are safe!

Hi Mike and Leo, Sorry it wasn't a more magical day up on "the rock pile" for you. Mount Washington, is famous for having "The worst weather in the U.S." Highest wind speed ever recorded was up there at the MWO, 231 mph. Did you guys go in to the observatory and check it out? I'm just thankful that you two made it up and over safely, for the most part. You and Kara should come up to the Whites in early October for the foliage. You think the views are epic now???? (Next time, take the Cog or drive up LOL.) There's a lot to do up in the Notches, so make a week of it. Seriously!!! Again, I'm glad you're safe, please stay that way!. God Bless.

Awesome. Even though every day is not as dramatic as this one, I like it better without the music. I feel more present when I just hear the natural sounds.

Every hiker should carry a herbal medicine bag for such a day. When my son went to the top it was 32 degrees!! Freezing cold plus Windchill. I can't believe what a day you had! 🙏 Hope tomorrow is better.

Carbon fiber pole vs 60-90 mile hour gusts. Don't really think that would help.

The Whites are no joke. It can be in the 70's at the base and 30's on the summit. Hence, the signs "Turn around now if the weather is bad." So many have died up there because they didn't. Glad you made it safely.

Hello brother, i have been watching your videos in prep for my 2025 thru hike trip. I have a question for you. How do you video while walking with so little bouncing and movement. I'm a veteran and many of my brothers and sisters in my American Legion want to know if a I'm going to video some of the trip. Thanks for your help.

I’m wondering if the winds are typically strong in that area because there’s a complete absence of tall trees. I also wondered if a fire has been through the area and that’s why there’s no trees. I have to admit I was feeling some fear watching you. Glad you guys are ok
