Me too. Sometimes our pet's behavior has an underlying physical issue. I remember one of our dogs (now deceased) who had trouble getting the treats I threw at him. I thought he either did not like it or must be stupid not seeing it (yeah, bad of me to think of him this way). Then I realized he had trouble seeing the treats when I noticed his eyes (cataracts were creeping in) because he was getting old. His sense of smell was also starting to go away. I guess, I was the stupid one.

@@pyro226 I missed or misread it, but what I found watching it again is 0:44. She did an extra jump at the end of the stairs. I found it funny watching the first time and mistook it for sillyness/joy. But she (probably) didn't know that there wasn't another step.

She is wonky, silly and fantastically delightful, poor baby girl is blind. You got yourself a gem. Bless the person who reported on the cruel people who mistreated Chickpea.

Yes i agree about the person reporting on this monster, i have always said i do not care what you are doing especially in your lives, i am not the type of person that goes round reporting people on every single thing they do eg benefit fraud, domestic disputes, breaking covid rules, whatever, but when it comes to anything to do with animals, i would dob in my best friend, a family member, whoever it was, zero tolerance for it, they are my world, my passion in life! That is after i had got to them first of course, cannot, wont control my temper either on the subject, doubt will ever change!!

Blown away by the casual reference of blindness. Watched the vid again and it all made sense the additional attempt for stairs, running towards your voice. Wow. Match made in Heaven. How she never led much on that she was blind shows how fiercely she loved life with you. ❤❤😊

Yes, and MOST IMPORTANTLY IS "THE TRUST" Garbanzo had for her Mama as he ran upstairs when he got to the landing he did a lil shuffle!!!

The fact that people couldn't tell she was blind is a credit to how capable she is to be honest.

Well that was an unexpected twist at the end. She doesn't mind she is blind, she is a happy dog, they just get on with life. Chickpea is gorgeous. Those gnashers, the tongue! Chickpea teminds me of my late black and tan Brussels Griffin. He had wonky gnashers and a tongue that hung out. He would have dentals over the years, and lost more and more teeth until he only had 4 at the back for chewing, so his tongue was out further and further - no teeth to hold it in. He was adorable just like this girl.

It's difficult to tell!! She can probably see outlines or know that something is there but majority of sight is gone. She obviously doesn't let it get in her way, she's so stinkin' cute!

Well, the blindness explains a lot of her " wonky" antics... she is absolutely precious.🥰

Wow, finding out she's blind after a year must have shocked you. I once had a cat who I didn't know had cancer and the vet told me when he examined him that he's probably been blind for a few weeks. It's shocking because animals adjust so well to their disabilities.

They’re so much better at adapting to their situations than we are. They just get on with it and find another way. I can’t believe this pup here in the video is blind, you can’t tell at all! She has such good spacial awareness to say she’s blind!
