Mans was also one of the first people to really use the 3 point line efficiently at volume: in his second and third ABA years he averaged 7.1 and 6.7 3 point attempts per game and hit just over 36%. That’s absolutely insane when you consider that (1) the sample size and (2) the practice routines were way different back then, so the average and median 3 point attempt rates were really low. He didn’t attempt anywhere near that many for the rest of his career, but his percentages stayed excellent relative to his era. Not sure why he dropped off though; I am curious about that.

He did only average around 52% TS most of his prime, including those two high-volume years I mentioned earlier. That was right around league average, so I’m not sure it helped him a ton given he was only 6 feet tall. Still, shout-out to him.

Video idea for you Kenny! The KENNY BEECHAM challenge!! Win a championship with players who's last names spell out Kenny Beecham! (Ex. Lonzo Ball for B, Anthony Edwards for E, etc.) Each letter in your name needs a player (yes 3 players for E!) 12 man rotation, each player must get at least one minute of pt. Good luck!

Hey Kenny, sometimes when Centers take 3s in simulation it doesn't have to do with bad Tendencies, it's because of the team's Playbook too. So Hakeem in this vid starting taking 3s. Why? Because he's the Center for the Bucks, who usually have Brook Lopez taking 3s. But sometimes it really is 2K being weird with Tendencies, but I'm 99% sure the Playbooks factor in too

Seeing Nate Thurmond dominating the league is awesome. He actually did play for the Cavs at the end of his career and he helped guide them to the Conference Finals in 1976. He even has his jersey retired by them, as they were grateful for the veteran leadership he brought to the team.

Idk what to call this Start with 70 ovr team, then every time you win a game you steal a player from that team, then use a number generator 1-15 to see what player you get. Once you get to 15 wins you start to get rid of players on your team by using a number generator 1-15(again), so say luka is your best player and you land on 1, you switch him out for whoever you landed on

Day 474 of asking KOT4Q to do the No Free Agency Rebuilding Challenge Rule 1: You cannot sign any players during off season free agency. Rule 2: Once a player’s contract expires, they’re gone from the team for good. Rule 3: You cannot sign players in free agency to acquire assets then flipping them nor can you use free agency to fill up roster space. Rule 4: No contract extensions or trades during off season free agency. Rule 5: Trade only during the regular season. Rule 6: Try and win 2 or 3 championships. This is my challenge for KOT4Q let’s see if he can complete this.

I haven’t heard a lot about Nate Thurmond, but I can’t say I’m too surprised the Cava were successful. Based off the (admittedly few) clips I’ve seem (and some stats from historical creators like Thinking Basketball, he looks like an insanely impactful defender for his era, up there with Wilt & Russell, in a time where defense was more valuable (due to both spacing and rules differences). Pretty athletic guy too and I’m guessing that, based on his assist numbers, Golden State probably tried to run some post offense through him, as was common during that era (think proto-Bam but worse bc of spacing and lack of handle). I kind of have a hard time seeing why Bill wouldn’t be just as good, if not better, in that role though. He was an Olympic-level high jumper (apparently 7th in the world in 1956) and could run the floor like few guys at that time. Scoring rate was similar too.
