having a heavy boot could be actually really good as a work boot. Those stitching help them last a looong time
I like your video on these. I have been out of the Corps for 25 years. These things are heavy, for sure, but they are also much more comfortable than the issue boots I had at my time. Mine had a rubber sole, no foam cushioned midsole like these. I like the wider shape on them because with the seam on soles, they fit wider than the welt on boots. I bought a couple pairs from Danner on sale for $75 a few years ago. I wouldn't pay the $300+ on these. I use them for hiking and at work, very durable.
The Danners really aren’t heavy and are very comfortable and durable
For a work horse of a work boot I've had great luck with them. They are a little heavy but they can be rebuilt, have good traction and stiffness, and the vent keeps your foot dry. They would suck for PT.
This video saved me 300.00 dollars lol
They'll get you through anything but they'll also make you sad while doing it....

Whys that😂
I do disaster response with the Red Cross. My RAT boots have been a life saver working on gravel, grass, and broken glass.
I work for a contract company that provides services for AAV's and is staffed by mostly old jarheads. I bought these for work because steel toe is required, and Ive found that all the bates lites and other running shoe style bots ware out withina couple years. I hope these are the last boots I ever buy

hey man, where are you contracting? my buddy is a marine with aav in cali and always talks about the contractors out there, I honestly didn’t even know that was a thing for civilians to do alongside military. hope it’s going well

They will last you. I don’t even take care of them and they’ve lasted me 12 years since I got them in Afghanistan to nowadays where I used them for work.
They look as good as my old black combat boots from 32 yrs ago!
Have owned both bates and danner RAT boots, danner is higher quality with the chance to get them rebuilt and are a bit heavier than the bates version. Bates are cheaper a bit lighter and if you own the bates gortex version the liner isnt sewn down well in the boot. Both were great when I had them did everything from pt, hikes, and CFT in them overall my favorite boot but both companies have discontinuedt hem, there are leftovers or secondaries you can find online but your best bet is to just go with the danner MEB its an updated RAT boot just without the leather on the heel and toe
Definitely get some used or at surplus, mine were 60 brand new
I go through boots. I cycle them. First they start as my Casual Wear Work Boots and as they loose their looks they go to my Hard and Rough Work Boots. I need boots that are easy to put on (military vertical loop are the best to loosen and tighten up), comfortable for standing, walking, and getting me through the day, and are insanely tough. That is why I buy surplus Military boots. I have scored Black REDWING made 1980 vintage combat boots ($40 + shipping), Black Wolverine made Army boots early 1990's ($60 free shipping), Black Belleville Flight Deck Boots ($60 + shipping - note these are heavy boots but the most comfortable - best for all weather conditions), and just purchased these Wellco RAT Boots in Tan for $70 (have not arrived yet). All were NEW OLD STOCK UNISSUED. I buy them because I need tough and inexpensive. Has nothing to do with the Globe and Anchor on the side of the boot and even though I am a Veteran I was Navy not a Marine. The emblem does not bother me a bit. They are for working in.
I got the Danner RAT boots back in 2009 and they were way lighter and prevented foot rolling compared to the Bates MCCB issued in 2007.
No one PT in these, they are heavy af

When I was in, and utes & boots was worn for PT, we'd do jungle boots! Our leather combat boots (at least mine were) could get over broken in!
As a work boot the wellco rat boot is totally decent. On my 3rd pair in as many years. Only paying half price though...

Shut up
You think the Danner rat are any better for hiking trips? Or much better to just go with some light hiking shoes and forget it?
Great Video!... You talked me out it... I was looking for a solid Motorbike boot, an ankle Guardian, but NOT a Thug of a Boot!... trouble discerning gear shifts with a heavy boot, it just Stomps on Everything!
Danner offers rebuild service for these boots.
I love these boots. Ive just about worn through my second pair
These look great casually tbh
I've also got the danner rat boot I really like them I don't think they're heavy they're definitely lighter than my other work boots and I had them on a and they've got a lifetime warranty
Thank you😺
Just bought em at an army & navy store they are so comfortable
I'm getting them cause they look badass. That's the only reason
also, son.. Combat boots are designed to do what some of us do at ‘work’ so yeah i wear combat boots to work and run with heavy loads over long distances for hours and wear them until the soles split. The question is when. The grass never gets greener.
The 360 are not for drill you boot! My RAT boots got me through Afghanistan circa 2010, A&S and everyday hikes: snow, rain & ice. And yea, my boots have more time TIS than you! Give them the proper respect they deserve.

How about giving a proper answer then. What are the 360 for?
I’ve always loved the way these boots but I’m not gonna get a pair cuz I don’t want some Marine to pick on me lol.
Man, the first time you do drill in leather sole shoes and M1 garands lol it’ll change you
I waterproof my rats with melted crayon. Works awesome. And multicam.
Should I buy mine with the same size as the combat hot weather ones?
Wellco makes rat boots and I used those in the Marines as well.

@@jerryreed1359 I liked them but I saw some recent articles saying they weren’t actually made in the US and were actually made in China. They were my first RAT boots so I love them and even got them refurbished.
I go through six and they hardly show any wear.... tf
Great thanks 👏
When did these start being issued?
Do you sell any of your old worn boots? i am interested
I’m a wanna be mr.boot today
Hi hi!! Hey, may I please buy your boots? Thanks! 💚💛🧡💜💛💚💙

That is a vent in the bottom on the boot he points at. Definitely not water proof. Great for hot and dry...crap for cold and wet.
Need a haircut.
Dude. You're a marine? That was my first question. Get some more.
