I-610 Houston,TX

video follows the legendary i-610 . you will not see more level 4 to 5 stacks along the route anywhere else on the interstate highway system .. the famous uptown skyline, the reliant staduim , and the houston ship channel bridge

When I lived in Houston (late '85 - early '90) I drove 610 a couple of times, but going clockwise. What I remember most was when you approached the Katy Freeway you had to stay in the left three lanes but after the lanes from I-10 were added to the right side you had to move into them, quickly, because the left three lanes were exit-only to US290.

As a Dallasite,I love visiting Houston. It's fun just to drive around and look. I've always had a nice time, and I thought the folks there were super nice. I just wish there wasn't such a rivalry between Dallas and Houston. We're all Texans, and these two cities really put Texas in the international spotlight.

thomas york Houston and Dallas are the beasts architecturally...but here comes Austin! And with SA, Fort Worth and many others Texas has a very impressive collection of power cities.

Definitely an interesting video, certainly for its coverage of a complete Interstate loop freeway. You're right, I can't recall a single freeway with so many stack interchanges, in such a relatively short number of miles.

I started to drive when i was in 10th grade in houston around 2002. Houston used to be feiendly. But in 20 years of Northeasterners midwesterners and west coasteners have moved here and brought their hate on the road. In 2023 its dangerous to drive in houston bc so many drivers are agressive and will ram or even shoot at u in traffic. Its literally turned into Los Angeles

Having so many lanes is useless unless WE learn to keep right and use left lane for passing.

Especially when you're on Katy Freeway or downtown. It needs to stop because they be hogging doing 55 mph. But having so many lanes can't be useless sometimes like Beltway 8 trying to make it 4 to 8-10 lanes, Katy Freeway mostly, and I-45 heading Galveston passing Beltway 8 East or West.

Thanks for uploading! I haven't seen the loop since 1987 when I lived in Houston. Looks like there's been some change. I know there was not an outer loop then. I remember the ramp for 59 north used to freak me out as a kid because it was so tall.

I live in Chicago. Chicago to Houston. First you enter I-90. And then onto I-94 west. After two of those highways you enter I-57 South and stay on I-57 South until you get to Missouri. After you get to Missouri you enter I-55 South until you get to Arkansas. And then if you are in Arkansas you enter I-40 West. And then idk I forgot but let's skip that part. And then you enter I-69 South if you are in Texas. You stay on I-69 South until you get to Houston. And welcome to your destination. :)

At 8:38 to the left all of those white "dots" are actually Volkswagen vehicles that are brought into the Port of Houston wearing white draping as covers. They can be seen from the bridge that you obviously drove on. The Port Of Houston is the designated US Port of entry for VW Group vehicles (that includes Audi, Bentley and Lamborghini). BTW, I miss Astroworld too. The Texas Cyclone and the Viper. The memories were endless.

It made me mad that they didn't widen 610 from I-10 to US 59 during the reconstruction in the mid 00s. That section should be 5 lanes minimum . The main reason why it wasn't widened was becasue of protest from the memorial park lovers. Depite how great I-10 is now, everything still gridlocks at 610. One thing that would help would be to recontruct the access ramps at US59 (way too small). I love the section from 59 to 288. They did that right!
