Love the ride through St Louis MO/IL along interstate 55 North
I-55 is getting the revamping now that I-70 go a few years ago, replacing 60-year-old bridges and giving it a bit more capacity. As you get to I-44, the Truman Parkway ramp is the aborted MO 755. Even with all the work that has been done downtown, it's still rather slow going through there.
"Road Work Ahead" I certainly hope it does.
It looks like some of the I-55/I-70 concurrency could use some widening.

Yes, they are. And they have been worse. IDOT does not spend much of their budget south of I-80, but they did resurface I-255 recently and are preparing to replace (with MODot) the 1968 I-270 bridge at Chain of Rocks.
