The Kodiaq RS is by FAR the better option if performance is important

We've had the GT Sorento now for 3 months and love it. Such a great car in every way

Kia is killing it lately, Telluride, Serento, Stinger, Carnival...

Is Mazda CX8 worth it?

A comparison between the KIA Sorento and the BMW X3 in the same price range would be interesting also.

Wait wait, isn't the 3rd row entry for Sorento on the wrong side? Since the 2nd row seats split 60-40, Hyundai did the right thing by making the primary entry from passenger side, but somehow they got criticized, while this was not mentioned for Sorento at all..

IMO this channel only looks for ways to justify their taste or political / commercial interests. Im yet to see a review here that makes logical sense. The new MU-X is appalling

I just picked up A Kodiaq having driven all three contenders. For me the Kodiaq won out. I found the Kia 'Van' like as far as driving position went. I also found the trim tacky in appearance, though solid and soft enough. I went for the Kodiaq and have not regretted it - yet.

@@pastorofmuppets8834 Tsi 132 with the tech and lux pack. Came in at 57K. Well worth it. No wait either if your not too bothered about the colour.

@markyes I agree. The warranty is excellent!, appearance is a taste thing. For me, I like conservative stands the test of time. I've had a Kia, it gave no trouble. An excellent car!

Exact comparison I was looking for, would have been better if you had CX9 here as well.

But these are the 3 finalist, so the CX9 didn't make the cut. I would guess the current CX9 didn't make the cut is because it's is now 6 years old design, and doesn't have the same option as these new cars. I'm pretty sure Mazda will come up with a major facelift change soon, and will once again lead this segment.

Why compared the outgoing Santa Fe with the new Sorento and not the new Santa Fe???

Yeah precisely what I was trying to say. If the Hyundai Santa Fe gets the updated cabin interior design just like its little brother the Tucson, then the Hyundai would be a better choice.

One mechanic came to me and mentioned; next time you think to buy a car, get the Asian one as.... Australia as a continent closer to asia and easier to get the sparepart by saving the time and since then I always consider it.

The comparison of a facelift Santa fe and the Hyundai Sorento would fall into a very similar category as the base platform is the same platform. They both share the same Gdi crdi engine ranges as well as hybrid technology. You're paying a slightly higher premium on the Hyundai badge and all around design. it's also a less common vehicle globally.

Agree with the findings.

This is a somewhat weird comparison considering that the hyundai santa-fe tested here is the previous model. Love to know why you couldn't get hold of the new model?

Why not compare the updated Santa Fe , which would be a better comparison. You just made it easy for the sorrento to win against 4-5 year old competition.

Compare sorento with rav4 please regardless the number of seats

Really not a great comparison for the Santa fe you should have been using the current facelift model, so naturally, it's going to look dated. Also, the facelift model Santa Fe price range is higher than the equivalent model Kia Sorento.

Where is the New Santa Fe

A bit confused about the old Santa Fe being compared when the more recently released Carnival was in the MPV category video.

It's true that's old Santa Fe they should have compared it to New Santa Fe. Carnival is not a SUV a different category car all together.

That's not fair for Hyundai !! , you should have included the new facelifted Santa FE 2021, which is much more practical and luxurious!

Top of the line Kia Sorento vs bottom of the line Skoda kodiaq vs old model sante fe. 🤔

If the Hyundai Santa Fe has the updated cabin just like its little brother Hyundai Tucson, I would be pretty much the winner would already been the Hyundai. But as for now, the Kia wins this round.

In Australia the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries classifies these cars as Large SUVs, so to keep things simple, we do the same.

The updated Santa Fe look much smarter now as does the recently update Skoda Kodiaq

Family friendly 7 seaters. It’s 2021, yet these new Kia & Hyundai do NOT have curtain air bags that properly or fully protect kids sitting in Row 3 Massive fail and not even mentioned in the video. Very poor form to NOT mention this massive safety omission ! The Kia & Hyundai should not be eligible to compete based on this big safety omission. It’s 2021, and the judges should criticise Kia and Hyundai over this issue. They should make the public fully aware about this safety issue !!

If I was after a big family wagon it wouldn't be one of the Korean twins because of the miss on the rear airbags. Isn't the human cargo more important than the engine or gearbox. The Mazda CX9 or even the slightly smaller CX8 should have been on the list...shows the judges aren't family minded.

It’s a massive shame that the motoring media as a whole do not have the guts to completely shun any new vehicle in 2021, that has a serious omission, such as not having full curtain airbag coverage for Row 3. As long as a vehicle gets a 5 star ANCAP Rating, then all seems to be ok. And BTW, ANCAP etc don’t safety test Row 3 seats in any crash test procedures. Absolute joke. This “ car of the year “ series by Drive, is so bad, on so many levels. 🙄

Everest, while impressive, doesn’t really belong due to being UTE-based.
