I have the 1.0 T-GDI 48V with manual transmission and I really like it. It is not as slow as some people say, I'd say it is enough for city driving and highway driving (even in Germany), never had a problem with not being able to overtake or being too slow in any situations. After around 300 km (on highways, rural roads, and city streets) I averaged at exactly 6L/100km. I was also surprised about how good the car handles and how quiet it is even at higher speeds. It is no race car, but so far it has been a very comfortable ride for a very good price.

I like this car, but I prefer the 1.0 Tsi engine or even the 1.0 of Honda Civic. This engine is not bad but it's not between the best of category. Good video Joe!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

@@remstesthd6784 Its not granted they are less reliable since those engines are made with modern alloys far surpassing classic gasoline engine blocks of old. I read a report that 1.0 ecoboost is made for 400 000 km and more. But, depends on the manufacturer I guess. My dad had Hundai's 2.2. crdi engine, and it was terrible, leaking oil after 80k. On the other hand Dacia Logans with 0.9 tce are common in my country and taxis regularly pass 350 000 with them. All depends..

@remstesthd6784 There's no relation between displacement, number of cylinders and reliability all that matters is how good the quality of the parts they used for an engine is like pistons, valves, rings and how good they assembled them which differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. For example any Fiat's 4 cylinder vs Toyota's 3 cylinder.

I just had a test drive today and here is my experience: 1.0 turbo engine is catastrophically weak and inert, totaly disappointing, it's like driving a tractor. You can push the pedal to the floor but there is simply no power coming from the engine, no matter what revs and gear and you are in, I couldn't take over other cars in city traffic at cca 60kmh. I tried it on uphill road, it can barely pull the car uphill in second gear!!!! When I push the pedal in neutral it takes forever to rev up. Fuel consumption was quite high for 10 km test drive, over 8 L/100 in city, it shows how inefficient this engine is. Unfortunately the dealer didn't have a test car with 1.5 atmospheric engine, I would love to see if that one is more responsive. The breaks are strong but there is too much free travel of the pedal, it is really poor. Same for clutch pedal, too much free travel and car jerks when shifting gears. Even Getz model 20 years ago had better driving characteristics (I drove those with 1.2 and 1.4 L atmospheric engines, those were excellent cars). My old 2007 Ford Focus with Duratec 1.6 L 105 hp petrol engine is a fucking rocket compared to this! If you don't believe me, go and have a test drive at your local dealer.
