From a concept design standpoint, I think it is really special. I've kept up with just about everything out-out since '87, and this is one of the few designs that really shows the value of a concept/halo car. Hyundai have sent the best designers in the business back to their respective dungeons with this car.

Hyundai have just changed the game plan. I certainly hope that they have the balls to put it into production exactly as it looks.

What’s the purpose of making a concept car? Since I was little concept have have always looked futuristic and I thought that’s how cars would soon be, but here we are 20 years later and it’s the same thing

The reason they never use the concept design and only a derivative of the concept is because concept designs aren't designed to meet local laws, they're meant to showcase the general direction a company is heading, and only use "cues" of the concept design. For example, aerodynamics might not be very good in the concept, interior design doesn't meet local laws for passenger safety, things like that. But yeah, i agree, it would be nice to see more companies stick as close as possible to concept designs to keep the wow factor in the final product.

Not all concept remained as a concept car. Toyota started to bring all their concept car into production with minor changes like the Lexus LC 500 or the Toyota C-HR

I've seen it at the New York Auto Show. Sad to report that it looks much worse in person. All the proportions are off and the venting looks like shit. I will say that it looks very good on camera though
