Thanks man. Was torn between these two exact headsets. I already have the flight for the PS4/ps5 and I really like those. This is definitely pushing me towards the flight for the Xbox now.

I love the lightness I love them I have turtle beaches I live super tight head sets but these are the most comfortable ever.

Funny that most comments go towards the HyperX. I've got those and will be returning to get the Turtle beach following this video. I want to be able to fiddle with the settings and have the extra connectivity. I don't like having to switch the dongle between PC and xbox. Just hoping that the mic is on par, the comments here are split, the review gives a thumbs up to Turtle beach. Solid review, thanks for that!

Glad you found it helpful. They're both great in their own right. I'm using the Corsair HS75XB lately as well and it seems companies are stepping it up in general over the past year.

This headset is the BEST because it utilizes a dongle. No bluetooth drops ever because of interference like all the others. I was an early adopter of this headset and it never disappoints.

I lost my dongle and I have no idea if it is console specific and would like to replace… without it this fantastic headset is obsolete :(

Just a heads up guys, if you use an external hard drive that plugged into the back of your series x, make sure you put the headset dongle in the front of the console. If youve ever had interference with wireless headsets that connect through a dongle, it's cause the USB slot with external hard drive gives off signals that interferes with the connection.

So dumb question...i do have an external harddrive plugged into the back and this was plugged into the top usb port and its still causing alot of issues...do you have any idea what i can do? Could the actual harddrive being right next to the dongle cause an issue? Im new to these gaming headsets and dont quite understand it all! Sorry!

No its weird. The game and chat audio cuts out for a couple seconds at a time. My friends can still hear me but i cant hear anything, and it only happens during a game. When im sitting at the menu or loading in its fine but once the game actually starts my headset acts up...

Hyperx is better build then turtle beach. Turtle beach tend to break after some time

yeah, have had several TB and they always break at the plastic plate above the cup. I'm an adult gamer and never abuse or drop. TB construction is garbage. Gonna try these.

Never had my turtle beach break and I've owned quite a few over past 11 years, but they always have a mic issue on the Bluetooth models where i sound robotic and need to reboot it. Otherwise one ear has gone bad on older models. Stealth 700 has been solid though.

I just bought them on Prime Day too. It's my first pair of gaming headsets. I just unboxed them tonight. I read that you are supposed to fully charge them before you use them. Can I charge them on my Xbox One X?

@@jamilgotcher5456 you sure can! And you don’t HAVE to fully charge them before using. But yes your Xbox will charge them if you connect the usb to it. :)

I had these for 2 years and they are so good for xbox. What amazes me is the cloud flight x has amazing loud and clear sidetone but all other hyper x headsets have crappy sidetone.

I had a stealth 700 gen 1 and it broke after a year and a half, so I got the 600 gen 2, thing broke in about 4 days, so I got the cloudx flight and I love everything about it though the mic is the only thing I would nit pick about but I’m fine with it.

Owning both I'd say the CloudX Flight simply because the cups swivel. The Microsoft have very little movement and get uncomfortable after about 2hrs for me. I can wear the Hyperx all day without issue5

if you quickly press the power button can turn the side leds on, and off, or even make the them flash in a slow pulse

you use them on your pc?? and if so that such the bass and for the music since I want them only for my pc, new subscriber!!

I just purchased the flights for Xbox. Only issue I have is I can't seem to turn down the party volume compared to the game play volume. I've tried Messing with the chat and game volume buttons on the headset but I don't seem to hear any difference.

Quick question how loud do these get because I heard the 9x is on the low side of things, I’m not saying I want to blow my ears out but you know what I mean?

I honestly prefer the sound of the Hyper X mic over the Turtle Beach. I don't want a lot of background noise picked up in my mic lol

Now, I have the ps4/pc model and this version as well. Does this version work on PC? It doesn't seem to for me, but I see others saying it does. I am trying to confirm how to get it to work.

See I liked the stealth 700 but they broke and costumer service did nothing to help even though it was just a battery issue or a charging port issue cause I tried to charge it and it wouldn’t charge

What a killer review. I have two questions for you. I owned the Kingston HyperX cloud X wired headphones and absolutely love them. How are these wireless ones compared to those as far as sound quality? Secondly I bought the steel series 9X and my ears were bleeding because it was just so aggressive. I couldn’t play for more than one hour. My eardrums were throbbing. Are the turtle beach 700 gen 2’s better than the 9X as well as better than the Kingston cloud flights ??? Hi, and thanks for the kind words. I would think you'd enjoy the sound of the 700 Gen 2 (use the vocal preset), and it sounds great out of the box. I feel the Cloud Flights are a small step back compared to the Clouds. Wireless pulls some of the details out a little unfortunately but overall it's not bad. It's not as bright as the SteelSeries signature sound. I think Astro has a great smooth sound to them, but they're slightly over priced for what you get right now. I hope they come out with a new model soon!

@@GadgetryTech you’re more than welcome. Your reviews are killer. So here’s what happened since I last wrote you. I returned the 9X. My ears were bleeding. The mic on the other end was horrible from what my friend said. I think I’m just going to stick to the hyper X. I just bought some Alpha‘s today and it will be showing up tomorrow. I also just returned the Sennheiser game ones. I’m telling you man. All these headphones are too painful in the mids and highs. I tried EQing the 9X. I tried EQIng the Sennheiser’s to drop some mids and boost lows and highs and make more of a smiley face EQ. Just sounds like crap. I find the hyper X cloud X. Even though it’s on the lower end of the price range. They just sound fantastic right out of the box. Even the microphone sounds great. My only complaint about the hyper X cloud X is that the wire is not detachable. I’ve had many issues with dust getting into the wheel volume control. Many cans of high-pressure spray lol.

How did the decibel level rank compared to Turtle Beach 600 or 700s and the Razer Kaira Pros? I had to return the Kaira Pros because of it would constantly disconnect. I got the Turtle Beach 600 Gen 2 Max but returned those because the sound level/decibel just wasn't enough when listening to KZread music on Xbox.

Thanks so much for the Super Thanks!! If you're looking for highest volume levels, under $200 with Xbox support, I would look at the Nova 7X. If you disable the volume limiter in SteelSeries GG, it get's crazy loud. The HyperX is comparable to Stealth, maybe a hair louder.

These or kaira pro for my series x. I want wireless under 200 usd

These sound better with regards to positional awareness for sure. Even though these look basic, they are still extremely comfortable. If you don't need bluetooth, this is the better headset for sure.

My hyper x cloud flight keeps on echoing i don’t know why.

Hopefully you can give me some advice. For 3 years i’ve used the hyperx cloud alpha and absolutely loved them, no complaints on sound or my friends saying anything negative about mic quality. The only dislike i have is not being able to have the game and chat volume just right. I recently bought TB stealth 600, for a good price and honestly highly disappointed in them. The mic sensitivity is so bad that my friends can hear my dog walking/running, and hear people talking in the next room. I love the sound quality and the feel. My question(s) is the stealth 700 sensitive as well? Is the flight mic quality the same as the alphas or worse? I’ve always used TB until i was convinced to get hyperX and told myself i wouldn’t go back to TB lol. I’m looking for good sound quality, directional sounds, good bass, good mic quality in the price range of 100-150. Thanks

The hyper x cloud x flights are amazing just make sure you set your xbox audio settings to uncompressed. Speaker audio- uncompressed Headset audio- uncompressed I'm a top snd player and my sound whoring and pin pointing is godlike due to thks headset. They're $160.

I got the Stealth 700 Gen 2 for Christmas, they were faulty and wouldn't charge for me. Got a refund but couldn't get a new one as they had completely sold out. Great headset while they were working though. Got these yesterday, seem good. However, the lads said the mic quality is shit. I've heard that's what let's these down. I'm wondering is the mic interchangeable since it can be removed?

They have a special shape where the mic connects to the ear cup. Any HyperX mic that fits the shape could work, but this set is a bit special with the red LED that illuminates when muted. I found that the mic is average. TurtleBeach is better, LucidSound is worse, etc.

I have 2 broken pairs of Turtle Beach. Both broke near the ear piece Will never buy again. I have a 5 1/2 year old hyperx set that is metal and not plastic like the TB. The headset is going strong. Does show some wear on the ear cups and head band. Looking to upgrade. These look like they are plastic. No comments about quality design?

I briefly mentioned the construction but yeah basically all plastic. New headsets are much better than old ones in general because designs have improved a lot. Aside from the one random noise it makes when you mess with the earcups, it feels pretty solid. Hard to say without using it for a year but so far it's been great.

Really great review! I bought the HyperX FlightX on Prime Day and I'm about to charge them. I'm really glad I bought these after seeing your review. Besides my Xbox One X can I use the Hyper X Flight X on my Nintendo Switch too?

Thank you for this review. I am looking for a headset for the Xbox series x. What bothers me the most is the chance of connectivity loss. Almost 9/10 websites tell me the Arctic 9x is the best Xbox series X headset. But I also read comments about connectivity loss and also this "Arctis 9X uses the "Xbox Wireless" technology that was developed by Microsoft. Does the Arctic 9x has a different usb dongle (software) then the HyperX CloudX Flight wireless? I cant find any information about that.

Arctic 9x has no dongle. It pairs with Xbox like the controller does through Bluetooth

I have the stealth 700 right now and I hate them. They disconnect quite a bit when I’m mid game and it drives me insane. They don’t turn the mic on sometimes when powered up and you have to turn them off and on again multiple times. I’m going to try these hyper X’s. I use mine for Warzone for reference.

Yes you can! The transmitter included with the CloudX Flight works fine with Windows 10, and is how I did the mic recording test portion of this video.

They work on Windows 10 machines with the included USB adapter! My mic test in this video was with the USB adapter on a desktop. Laptops are fine as well.

I'm still on the hunt. I picked up the 700 gen 2. But the mic is awful and terrible design. Its either pic up everything or noise gate and have to scream at it while it cuts in and out since it sits at my cheek. I need 700gen 2 functions( BT pairing) with a wrap around mic. Thanks for the vids!

Sorry to hear Boosted! My 700g2s have actually been excellent without much of a mic issue. Sorry to hear you had such a rough experience. The CloudX Flight definitely tops the reliability/stability/consistency ranks. Sound quality is a little lower than Astro/TB with game mix however, but it's still pretty good. I used them last night on Warzone for a few hours and still loved them.

These are slightly better out of the box for clarity. If you are a competitive player then these are great. Xbox is surprisingly good once tuned with the right EQ but they aren't quite as open sounding as these.

Yes they do! They work on all Xbox One's and Series S and X. Super easy set up....plug in the USB dongle, the Series x immediately recognizes headset and your ready to use them in seconds. Highly recommend spending the $$ on the Dolby Atmos App. It allows you to have 3 custom EQ settings and then a general gaming setting which is readily available. With Atmos, I'd say this headset is on par with and nor not better than my Gen 3 Astro A50's.

I haven't tried that yet so I'm not sure how well it will work. In many cases, the mic swap doesn't make a massive difference. It's often the way the chip/firmware sends the mic signal to the console/PC. Low bitrate is likely to help with latency/stability.

Definitely it s a nice feature, that light is there for a good reason :) by the way you can use your mind to do something incredible... Like put onto the light some black scotch tape and.... You have to use the included adapter it came with. Plug it in to a USB port, then click your speaker icon on the bottom right to select devices and make sure you select "Xbox Headset".

@@kaylahsvx That's odd and shouldn't be the case. During my mic review where I sounded fine here, that was on PC with the included adapter. Nothing fancy done and no editing to the sound. I would mess with your audio settings some more. Use Voice Recorder on Windows 10 to see how you sound. You may have to check your sample rate to see if it fixes your problem.

This will not, no. Their PS specific versions are mostly wired, and the Stinger Core Wireless is not as good. Some PC versions may work but I haven't tested them to confirm.

Stealth 700x are better than these, Mic is awful for Party chat on HyperX (I have had many complaints) and the audio quality isn't something you'd expect for the price.

I just hate turtle beach i had 3 mics and all of them broke in less than a year. I don’t trust the brand tbh.

Had hyperX before and never had a problem with the MIC. The sound quality is really good compared to some turtle beaches

With most wireless headsets the mic quality drops a bit. The regular Cloud mics sound better via analog connection but that's because they don't have to cope with sending sound wirelessly.

If you don't have your audio settings on stereo uncompressed the audio will be bad. Don't say these are bad if you're using DTS digital surround and bitstream out with this headset..

This particular model will not.

Love this headset for a month or so then had god awful connectivity issues. After 5 months they have become so un reliable and borderline unusable.

Its amazing how companies still do the shared game and chat volume. dumbest feature I've ever seen. It's why I still only buy Turtle Beach's or id have tried and liked other headsets most likely.
