Hey Nature! Just wanted to ask you if theres any way you could raise the base volume of the video a little bit so maybe i could hear it a little better! I love your stories, i just have to struggle to hear them sometimes. Otherwise, keep up the amazing work man.

Weird, I have only used my phones speakers for years listening to NT (Huawei p30 and now a samsung A52s), videos are plenty loud for me personally but could just be my devices, if I maxxed my volume just on a phone I'd probably annoy the household lol. (I'm using just under 50% volume for listening comfortably so if base volume was raised I and others could just turn it down a bit so not against raising max volume, i have to say this is one of the "quieter" channels, max sound just sounds like shouting). Just my experience anyways 🤷‍♂️

Great Narration! At times, I wish the authors didn’t try to make things so obscure. Sometimes, more information being shoved in your face and smacking you is a good thing.

Yeah, I too lust for closure, but in short stories, it's not always to be had.🙂 I've come to accept this.

I've loved this story, and NT just made it awesome!!

Amazing, amazing!!! Bravo to the Author and to the Narrator! Kudos and Respect.

Spoilers.... I'm warning you.... Why would he be surprised? Isn't it common knowledge that if you were to approach a black hole, the gravity would slow down the passing of time for you, effectively putting you forward in time? An astronaut, of all people, should really know that.

Absolutely fantastic episode. Love me a bit of sci-fi I do. Great narration as always.

For a moment I thought it was something about the hyperion cantos

Oh, I remember this one! Been going through a lot of your back catalogue listening to you refine your storytelling over the years just like I did with The Dark Somnium a couple months back and I’ve been loving rediscovering these gems I enjoyed listening to the first time around. 😁

All his future self had to do was say "Don't become an astronaut".

Well he tried to speak, but was unable to :( My thought was that he could have drawn it in the dirt at least, but it sounds like he didn't have much time since this element seemed to literally be taking over his body.

First time I ever heard the word Hyperion it was the book series and it blew my mind. This story is not the book series- it still blew my mind Thank you skott, the adaptations of your readings ALWAYS make me dedicate time from my day to space out and enjoy You’re amazing!!

Loving the scifi

Oof, a GRB. I read a short story that had a similar situation where the crew of an experimental ship reached Alpha Centauri in a matter of days but couldn't contact mission control once they arrived because the warp reaction had obliterated the Earth.

Moral of the story is; do not fuck with time and space...
