Aoife just absolutely killed this. In Bjorks version the words feel like a prophecy from an oracle, but from Aoife they feel like wedding vows, pure poetry, its an amazing experience.

This is so underrated. Bjork’s music never grows old. We just mistakenly thought old messages ought to be obsolete. Your rendition to this song is beautiful

i went to coachella only to see bjork. . . but i also had some time to kill in the afternoon before taking the acid and i saw nickel creek, then rufus wainright, and then arctic monkeys before finally seeing bjork. i have loved you chris since that day. so even when you think you are introducing people to bjork right now on youtube, it was actually bjork who introduced me to you at coachella.

I have to admit, I was unfamiliar with this song so I was hearing it for the first time in my car yesterday (a rebroadcast). I was casually listening to it thinking "this is a good song" and then the climax of the song hit and I was completely absorbed. I told myself I had to find it and here it is. This song is absolutely beautiful, melancholy, and tragic. I've since listened to it about 4-5 more times, connecting more deeply to the lyrics, harmony, melody, and instrumentals each time. Absolutely the best thing I've heard in the last month or so. BTW, I did check out the Bjork version and found it really good as well (I'm familiar with Bjork in a pedestrian sense but not well versed), but I prefer this cover. The way Aoife and Chris connect with their blending and harmony, is truly soothing. Aoife's voice is incredible.

If this is struggling, then flying must be a slight hitch. Aoife is wonderful, but she is not Bjork, but even Bjork can't hit all the notes in this tune. Aoife doesn't have the range to hit the line, "To be safe up here with you." Bjork can, but even she has to give a slight shriek through the word "safe"... though I find that interesting to the tune, especially if intentional.

Bjork shrieks on purpose. She doesn’t need to. She chooses to cuz it sounds amazing when she does. She also doesn’t need to roll her Rs like she’s doing a parody of a Mexican accent. But it’s beautiful whenever she does.

Aoife O'Donovan totally outBjorked Bjork for this version of Hyperballad. Is there a better female singer out there today? I haven't found one... Sarah Jarosz is up there with Aoife, and Alison Krauss of course. Aoife's voice is so clear & clean & crisp ... the voice of an Angel.
