This is a true story that i was told. A regular soldier came across a mortally wounded young conscript on D-day. The conscript gave him his ID tags. Saying to him"Tell my Mum .I'll be alright". Then the conscript quoted the words of Abide With Me, until he passed away.It really made an impact on that soldier. He was able to find the mother and tell her how her son had died. Also hand over his ID tags as well no doubt. That young lad had no fear of death. He knew where he was going. I always think of that young conscript and how he passed, every time i hear the words of Abide With Me.

This is my FAVORITE Hymn!! I seriously love this one! I've sang it in a friend's camper, I've sang it on a swing set, I've sang it in church, I've sang it to a dog that was really upset and wrestless, and he calmed down!! One night I was playing it on the swing at my friend's house on a guitar, and that dog who had been wrestless and anxious lied under the swing beneath my feet, and listened as I sang that song!!

Yes! It is better to wear out than to rust out! Amen, thank the Lord For the resourcefulness He teaches us. Perspective, it makes a difference, because He made a difference within..Praise Him through every of our footstep He orders. To be His is a gift beyond measure

So beautiful, God answered his prayer and this beautiful poem became his swan song!
