"Hygienic behavior SAVES honey bee" - Honey bee sciences are always full of surprises. In beekeeping, it is hard to predict things. A couple of weeks ago I published a video talking about a new study showing that hygienic behavior, a common and normally desired trait in honey bee colonies, could be a new path for Deformed Wing Virus spread. The topic got so much attention that I decided to make a video about the historical aspects of hygienic behavior research and scheduled a Livestream event with Dr. Jay Evans, Research Scientist at the USDA Honey Bee research laboratory in Beltsville Maryland, to discuss the topic. I hope you can make it.
Cheers

Thank you for your hard work. But PLEASE don't cower down to the status quo of straight-line thinking, or industry hype. Viruses vectored are the NUMBER ONE problem in beekeeping today. Regardless of the benefits of a trait in past years; we CANNOT ignore the current situation. NO progress will ever be made if there isn't someone willing to conduct the research and cause industry to face the bitter truth. The beekeeping industry must weigh the harm of horizontal viral transfer, with "perceived" benefits of hygienic behavior. Who has the stones to announce the results?

I am all for the hard discussions as you already know. Not covering down. It is a complicated subject and demands much more discussion about it. Thanks for stopping by and always let me know your thoughts. Cheers.
