Top tip. To save your digging head and replacement parts. Don't stop in yhe slurry. It sucks back grit wearing out the ceramic inside
I’m currently a Hydroblast Technician but eventually in the long run I want to branch over to hydro vac that’s where the money is at 💰💰💰

Nice easy ground dig to in. In Calgary, AB we got boulders. Vaccers always have a nice pile on the side for each hole.

@dantruong2582 that was the goal to get into the pipe lines. I broke my back riding dirtbikes last year so trying to stick away from anything to labor intensive. How is the actual work day to day is it physically demanding? Appreciate the response. Valuable information. Deciding on what course to take is tricky
You might want to increase your CFM a bit. It seems that your hose doesn't want to take up the rocks with the slurry.
@Hydrovacjack

It sucks up everything, but I do have a leak in my hose which is limiting the suction a bit so I need to fix that. When I dump the rocks are huge.🤷♂️

I knew the feeling back in the day. Along with a coil of 6" hose and hard pipe you always picked up a few roles of duct tape.
Is this a special vac or just like a shopvac?

Hey jack what’s the cheapest solution for extending a vacuum truck or trailer hose?

We use a 6-8” flex hose, it’s a bitch but once you work with it a few times it becomes a lot easier.

We’re usually running about 2500 PSI and around 6-8GPM I believe. The magic happens in the spinner tips, they’re amazing at digging and moving earth and stones around.

The cost to run a hydrovac business is insane. Better to work for a company, at least for a while and then decide if u want to go on your own.

@@michaelhaze4507Not unless you already have enough capital to buy a truck outright. They cost about $15,000/month to rent or rent to own and that’s before fuel, insurance, maintenance, repairs etc. That’s for brand new and depends on the truck. If the truck is paid off you will make decent profit. Most companies charge between $250-$350 CAD/hr. And if you don’t have your truck(s) put on site every single day you’re losing a lot of money.
