Do you all use the Hubbard tank? Hydrotherapy is very very important for burns. for extensive amounts of burned skin however, it is extremely extremely painful, and This procedure will often take place in the room known as "THE TANK ROOm," or some people will just refer to it as the tank. There are several methods for debridement. The early 70s and the 80s found the main method as being performed in the Hubbard tank which is a large stainless steel tank with a whirlpool driven with the means of a turbine inside of the tank. this tank is less used now days, however it does still get used sometimes, but now they have moved to a shower method. Essentially, the patient might be taken down on this shower trolley, and will go into the "Tank Room," where the will wheel him or her under the series of shower hoses.Often, the shower trolley has a port to connect a hose to a drainage system that is on the floor of the room. The patients who actually are alert enough to remember the tank room call it the torture chamber, because of the amounts of pain that they suffer throughout this extremely grueling and agonizing process. If this procedure for debridement is not performed, tractures will form, and possibly render the patient immobilized. Patients who are1burned to an extensive degree will often recall their half sedated memories of the tank. They say that this is usually thing that the patients remembered the most during their horrendous stay in the burn Unit. The Burn Unit truly sees the worst of the worst. They see what honestly, nobody should ever have to see. It takes very very speccial care for patients in the burn unit, and very very very very special people to work there.
