Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography
Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography is a useful technique currently in use in research laboratories and biopharma extensively. It relies on the hydrophobic interaction of amino acid residues on protein surface. The proteins bind to the matrix of stationary phase and this binding is aided by addition of lyotropic salts which stabilize this interaction.
