Recording of BHS National 'Future Hydrology in a Changing Environment' Webinar from Wednesday 26th August 2020 given by Nick Everard (UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology).
Accurate measurements of river discharge have always been a vital component of hydrology, but now, in face of growing populations and a rapidly changing climate, the need is stronger than ever. Happily, the opportunities for innovation and collaboration to meet these challenges are also greater than ever.
This presentation provide an update on many of the prospects outlined at last year’s BHS ‘Celebrating Hydrometry’ meeting, and discusses new opportunities to meet the complex challenges of measuring river flow, and in particular the extremes.
The meeting was hosted by BHS President Nick Chappell and BHS Honorary Secretary Micheal Cranston.
