Hydrogen/Oxygen Separation Cell

Ғылым және технология

This water electrolysis dry cell uses membranes to keep the hydrogen and oxygen from mixing, routing each gas out a separate line so that they can be collected individually. Five parallel cells are sandwiched in a single stack that can produce roughly 2.5 liters of hydrogen per minute (not HHO, but just the hydrogen). This hydrogen generator is being developed specifically for filling RC blimps.

what kind of membrane do you used in this Hydrogen/Oxygen Separation Cell and what grade?

WOW.. that is my dream.. I saw your topic on hydrogen generation, I will sign up to ask you things if does not bother you.. My idea is to build a basic hydrogen arduino airship, with basic controls.. and then.. A new model, bigger scale.. more complexity, etc.. I am making research over this topic over a long time already. I already buy my arduino and this should be my first application. I was also doing some test with aluminum foil and fire, I discover that if your aluminum foil has at least 2 or 3 layers or it is thick enough, it does not catch fire (maybe because the thermal conductivity is too good).. In my first version I will need to have very careful to control the mix inside the rc airship, but my idea to future is to have many other safety precautions and complexity in the final airship design.

This was one of my early cells, see my other videos for the larger 3D printed version. The rubber gaskets had problems with leaking as size got bigger, and also the holes were not large enough to let the gas escape fast enough on a bigger 120volt cell. I'm actually doing an adruino project myself right now for making an automated two part epoxy mixer. Tip: For a professional IDE, avoid the simple Adruino IDE and instead install Visual Studio Community 2017 (free) and then get the Visual Micro Arduino plugin for it (also free).

+pyronaught Hi, I read your full post in the making of your final electrolyzer. So, if the machine says 1573 w/h and you produce 280 liters by hour and we know that each liter of h2 has 2 w/h, this mean that the efficiency of your electrolyzer is exactly 50%, which is great taking into account that it does not use platinum and it is homemade. I read that most electrolyzers has dehumidifiers to dry the h2, you have idea if your h2 outcome has some water vapor in it? How your 316L stainless plates take the job so far and how intensive was their use? By the way.. what material you use to create the balloons or your airships? It seems aluminum paper.. I want to do it with that, but not sure how to merge or stick them.. A hot iron would work? Or I need something else?
