    Had a doyle fin on my 19' Bayliner bowrider for 20 years. Not only faster to plane but planed at lower speed and stayed on plane longer when slowing down, Great for wakeboarding. Trim tabs are better but cost hundreds.

    I love having a shallow water holeshot and a quick holeshot as well, so I put a 4 blade and a hydrofoil on my Bass Tracker with a 50hp on it. I could raise the motor, but I don't feel like re-adjusting that. But, now I can jump up on plain in 2ft of water, and have no bow rise.

    2 things we see right away. Although the SE foil is a Top Brand, You got the SE300, that is too small for your boat weight. There's an SE400 with more surface area for lift pressure. #2: Everyone forgets that once you install a Wing, You become a Pilot, you must now Aim that wing with motor trim up or down to dive or lift, and adjust as your speed increases or decreases. Those that say they didn't notice a difference, or that it actually slowed their boat, did not aim the wing, and/or were using an inferior knockoff product. Stick with the SE brand, get the right size for the weight and even go 1 size larger if possible, it will get that lead ass out of the water. Trim tabs only change leveling stability by asserting down force against the water surface, thus creating drag and losing performance, not a good option. Stick with the SE foils. 35 years in business, several hundred installed, only 2 returned, (they used them as a ladder step and broke...no no) 👍😁👍

    Thanks, I appreciate your tips man. I didn't realize that this one is rated for a smaller boat. I got it for basically half price so I decided to grab it. If you watch the end of the video I did talk about trimming up and down. But I guess I should have talked more about it. Yes, trim up until you get to that sweet spot. The hydrofoil has been great. Maybe I'll try out an SE400 to see if there's any difference and do a video on it in the future. Thanks again for the tip and comment

    I've just recently got the SE Sport 200 for my mercury 15hp 4 stroke. It was driving me "nuts" to know where to place the rubber washers. In between the hydrofoil and cavitation plate? or underneath the cavitation plate followed by small washers and lock nuts? The package came with bugger all instructions. Cant even get onto the official SE Sports website. And other KZread videos out there show them putting the bolts in from underneath the cavitation plate with the nuts and metal washers on top. Christ I wish someone could set the record straight. I even phoned a marine outlet and they told me to place the rubber washers on top of the hydrofoil and then thread the bolts thru. Unbelievable.That's darn crazy. Anyways I like what you have done and so I shall place them in between the hydrofoil and cavitation plate. However does this not leave a sliver of a gap? What about having them go underneath followed by metal washers and nuts? Any Nasa or Aeronautical engineers out there please feel free to comment. 😃

  • @NoNonsenseKnowHow

    @NoNonsenseKnowHow

    Not sure what the technical answer is, but for me it's always been when you feel the bow rest down, you're on plane and it's time to to set your trim up a touch. I didn't like the white at first, but I loved it now since you can see it clearly when you're swimming around the stern drive. Makes for a good step as well!
