FH she almost did it right but you have to sand the crocs first, you aren’t supposed to wait a super long time between spraying and dipping bc the surface of the paint will dry (ie won’t fully stick to the croc), and you can’t double dip. And you need to seal them after so they’re less likely to flake. Edit: also spraying the green ones with the glow in the dark spray right after taking them out of the water was probably a bad decision. Should have let it all dry first

Ok from scrolling through the comments I've learned this: - before dipping: sand the crocs - wipe off dust, with rubbing alcohol - use a primer - make a simple colour scheme - dip ONCE - after dipping: use sealant - let them slowly and fully dry for 24 hours And: stop touching them while they dry!

Think of it this way: having the paint chip off over time just means they're infinitely re-dippable. Once the first layer is gone, you can just dip them again. You can try out different styles, and build your hydro-dipping skills. Like nail art.

also the pint chips off because of the material crocs are made out of. The surface is too slipery, the paint can't hold by itself.

For anyone wanting to do this: you’ll definitely want to take a piece of high grit sandpaper (maybe 800-1,000) and lightly scuff up the ENTIRE surface of the crocs (even the bottom). This will allow the paint to get into the surface a bit instead of trying to grip on a very smooth surface. Also, the “less is more” trope applies here. Use fewer colors than she tried to. Hold the can at a 45° angle to the water, about 2” above the surface, and don’t spray it all over the place, just spray it in one spot and let it move itself across the water. Spray the next color INTO the previous color, so that both colors are involved in the dip. It’s very important that you don’t spray it around like you’re trying to paint the surface of the water. Lastly, put your hand inside the shoe, dip it in upside down, gently shake it under water (this gets the rest of the paint on the surface out of your way), and in one fluid motion, turn the shoe right side up while bringing it up to the surface; avoid any spots of paint on the surface if you can.

For so much of my life, I have had Jenna to get me through the hard times. Now she is gone, and I am going through my first breakup without her since high school. The crocs are too smoooooooth, you need to sand them down so the paint has something to stick to. Also when spray a finishing spray.

Why didn't I know there were two!? I'd never seen the redemption vid before! I'm going to go ahead and say KZread probably ate the notification for this 2 years ago, and I'm going to forgive them for it because I miss Jenna and this is a bonus to me

@@annaminc6125 julien posted a video on his channel a couple of days ago about competing in a jiu jitsu competition, where he showed his feet and the guy with him was like "are you sure you wanna show your feet on the internet" and they had this whole joke about feet shots being for patreons only. So this was a little carry-over from that for anyone who saw Julien's vid.

And possibly do something to prepare the surface beforehand too. Smooth surfaces usually need to be roughed up (like when Moriah Elizabeth paints a squishy), or prepped with a coat of primer.
