Why don't you just connect and extent a hose from the filling in port to a small oil bucket [for oil return] above the jack and make sure that the oil jack container is filled with oil with the piston fully extended out inverted? I thought it would be much safer and easier?

Nice job. To summarize : in oder to operate a hydrolic jack upside down, the only necessary trick is the small pipe going to the top (then after turning bottom) in order for the pump to access the oil reservoir ? Also do you really need the second hole to fill back the reservoir ? You could fill it through the original seal but standing and turn it over after the hole is closed again.

@@isaacnguyen6944 Yes, you only need the pipe going to the top to make it work upside down. On some hydraulic jacks that seal is not just a plug but a vent valve and must be above the oil level. Without venting too much vacuum can build up and the pump cannot draw in oil and if too much pressure builds up both the pump piston and the hydraulic cylinder piston will extend on their own instead of keep retracted.

Too complicated process, difficult for people like me but it's possible if anyone has ambitions. Marvellous & robust equipment.
