Could be coil needs cleaning. But Justin if you haven't gone through all settings page 18 and onto the others, then it's going to be function 1 for value of 5, 2 for value of zero, and 3 for a value of one. Other settings not so much, but check those 3. Blower does seem to not deliver enough air tho!

Fan turns on so cap is good. You can test with a multimeter and is probably a 5mf. I think you need to change the setting to 2-0 on the thermostat and that will energize the reversing valve and compress outside fan should be on too. It isn’t going to hurt to try and change the setting on the thermostat. Next those ecm motors are expensive and I know you want to try and repair yourself but a hvac tech to diagnose is probably your best bet. Your are throwing parts at it and bot sure of your thermostat settings and wiring. Ted cook runs a channel in Greenville, anti diy hvac, he is a very good tech not sure he goes down that far to the lake house though.

You are not supposed to notice when it starts or stops heating. Their weakness is their failure to be able to keep up with extreme cold snaps. They will certainly be pricey from a place like that whereas you can buy them on Amazon dirt cheap. By myself like tinkering this stuff like that however it comes a time where you just have to cut your losses and have somebody come look at it. I had to swap tires on my daily driver so I could use it to rescue my hotshot truck from Florida. The 33's didn't have a high enough weight rating. Same problem with those lug nuts - they twisted like yours did. One lug was stubborn so I hammered a socket onto it and finally got it off. There's got to be a better answer for lugnuts! If your lake house was closer I'd look at your HVAC. I'm about an hour south of Haggai... that's a long drive! Some units run the fan slower for heat, but I doubt that's the case with an old Goodman. Very likely it's the capacitor as you probably already know by now...

conderser fan should be running also when in heat mode , which is the fan that you can see when the unit is all closed up, the fan that is turning is the evaporator fan which should also be running in heat mode. it could also be a bad pressure switch, fan control, low on freon, need to put a set of gages on the unit to see what is going on and make sure it is running at correct pressures.

The evaporator fan motor cap is fine. If it wasn't, the motor would not be turning. Those fan blades are half-moon shaped. If they have a slight bit of dirt on the front edges, the air flow will be weak. They are short little half-moon shaped strips running across. If you Google it, you'll understand if you see the picture of how they look. If you want, I can quickly go down to my workshop and take a picture if you want and email it to you. That or you have a leaking duct, and the air is escaping somewhere. But I would go with my first choice as your outside unit is very dirty and hasn't been serviced in a while.

most blowers like yours are 4 speed blowers, the one in my house was and it would start out fine on low speed(it was only wired for low and high) but when it was supposed to go to high speed it would just stop, a new blower motor fixed mine, a cheaper way to fix it is to change the wires to the 3rd speed that has never been used, just make sure to get a new capacitor, if it is weak it will kill your blower, but you will not notice much difference from high speed to 3rd speed

I'm like it's special paint from Harley, and at that time it wasn't available to paint, had to get new bags. Argued with the adjuster. I could be wrong but the capacitor has nothing to do with the speed of the blower motor it's like a buffer for the amperage draw when the motor initially kicks on so it doesn't blow a breaker. Kind of like a battery. But 120 volt battery. They also use capacitors in car audio to buffer the amp from the alternator. For smoother power delivery. From my experience if the capacitor is bad the motor won't start at all.

Not a decent one then - mine uses about 600w to produce as much heat as a 3kw fan heater when the outside air temperature is -7deg. Easily the most efficient system I've ever had, of any sort. The 3kw of solar panels on the roof do a decent job, even north of 52deg latitude. If the sun is out (which it is on the coldest days) my heating cost is zero, and I even generate a surplus good enough for all the lighting and cooking with a microwave (not enough for a hob or oven, obviously). But it covers all the basics (including home network and internet) and I'm better off than the folks being terrorised by Vladolf Putler, so I certainly can't complain.

The capacitor in the circuit board is set starting cap for the compressor. That metal box that the fan connects to is the emergency heat (AUX HEAT). It a coil of resistance wire like toaster wire, only thicker. The wires from the thermostat come into that circuit board area and should connect to the same letter order as the thermostat. Y--Y G--G R--Rh/Rc O--O W--W no matter what color the insulation is…but most try to match the letter and color. attach that grill on the left side. Wasps and leaves should not be accumulating inside the compressor. check the ducts for restrictions like bent ducts or a joint that has come apart underside the house the house. if you have a volt meter that reads capacitance you can check it before you buy another.

My brother and sil own an ac/htg co here in Texas. Equipment is hard to come by now days. Beyond equipment being difficult to get, Goodman is not a stellar brand. I know it was on the house, when y’all bought it so y’all are stuck. Might be smart to start saving to replace that unit. The house that I grew up in had a heat pump. It would go into emergency heat, if a blue norther blew into Houston. My Dad would try and catch it, before that happened. It used a lot of electricity in emergency heat. He would lower the thermostat and gradually increase it. Good luck!

Yup and I don’t think Coleman makes a/c’s let alone package units anymore. We had a Coleman on our first home that was built in 2005. My better half is HVAC certified so he always kept back parts for everything on the package units. It would be wise just to go ahead and buy a new package unit had have your duct work under the house inspected since you have floor ducts. Another option would be to run a mini-split system in the house one on each end; No parts house like Crainger will sell to the general public yu have to have a HVAC license at least here in Florida.

@@SuZQ4361 I wish our house had a split system. The upstairs is always hotter. Way too expensive for us to even consider. Just have to live with it. Last quote was $20,000. We have a 5 ton Trane condenser on the house. All things considered, it’s more efficient than the Carrier condenser the house originally had. Pleased about that. Have a great day!

@@texasczechmel if you were look at mini-splits to replace your 5 ton then yes it gets pricey. But for that single wide mobile home it wouldn’t or shouldn’t cost much. He can easily look up the price on Home Depot.

Went to daughters work and she goes dad please don't do a burnout to the first window I did 😁😁😁😁😁 and the second window after getting our shake's. Manager is a good friend of ours he was like hell yeah taking the Camaro for a ride. I said I hardly ever take it out. Cause it was my late Aunt Maggie's car sue brought it brand new off the showroom floor. Jessie says I bet Katie will be happy driving the suburban again. Jessie was happy seeing her Suburban with new tires and rims. Did that earlier today part of her Christmas present from me and the kids. She was like really really happy. She had standard rims and I hated them. And nope it does not have big rims on it just chrome rims and really nice. On the Harley Davidson Truck I have to use a special key to take off the lug nuts. The suburban is that way also.

Hi my experience with starting capacitor's on HVAC systems. If there no good the fan will not run at all, so why your fan is even starting is a question? Also you can put a multi meter across the terminals on the capacitor and see if it's good or not? Starting capacitors are just that for starting the fan motor not to make it run faster. Also maybe that fan is a multi speed fan? because they usually start slow then ramp up to full speed. Take care!!

I am a retired HVAC of 40 years experience. Q: What is the model number of the Goodman unit? Every unit has different sequence of operations (SOO). From the video it seems bare bones unit. Normal SOO is higher CFM for cooling and lower CFM for heating ( establishes the temperature rise of the heat ex-changer i.e. heating 45-55F (diff from return air temp to supply temp). This prevents cold air to the room when supply air is not up to temp. One look at the wiring diagram from the model number will help. One thing about the Honeywell stat is that it has many hats. You must go thru the entire setup setup (program 1.x to 95x) for your equipment. Q: When your stat indicates heat and fan auto, does your compressor turn on (not just the condenser fan but the compressor)? Q: When in heat mode the compressor must start to produce heat, then a temp sensor on the coil must reach preset temp, then the fan will start. Note a refrigeration unit should and may have a start delay timer (this safety device allows gas pressures to equalize in the refrigerant side before starting the compressor. Dave

Good advice, compared to a lot of the comments on here. I pulled up the manual for the thermostat he installed. On page 24 Important! Heating/cooling system type must be set so that your thermostat operates properly and does not damage your system. He didn’t have function 1 set properly when it was first turned on. A $5000 heat pump system is not something you should use trial and error on to get running.

Hi JustTruckin, Watched your live feed last night. KISS " keep it simple sir " Did you have heat before T-Stat change or do you know? Reinstall old T-Stat and verify, I noted you took picture of it. Unit is called a heatpump because it moves heat from outside to inside ( airconditioner with refrigerant flow reversed ) and vise versa for cooling. Heating cycles of heat pumps sometimes have a more gentle airflow than cooling which is due to multi speed fans. Not familiar with your unit but have worked on many others. Your indoor fan is running so next question is does compressor come on and cool? Next does it produce heat with compressor and outdoor fan running with T-Stat calling for heat? Normal and Aux/Emergency heat, 2 distinctly separate functions. Compressor should not run in Emergency but may in Aux. New T-Stat may need programed to allow the proper control voltage outside to the electronics that allow normal heat and cooling modes. Wire positions may need change. Not enough info last night to tell. You may have outdoor unit issues but I believe that restoring original T-Stat will make full diagnostics easier as you know that at least the cooling function worked with it.
