Hut Traverse - First Attempt

New Hampshire's famed Hut Traverse (or Hut to Hut) is an approximately 50 mile rocky and rugged route with roughly 17,000 feet of elevation gain that links all eight of the Appalachian Mountain Club huts. We started our attempt at Carter Notch Hut hut at 12:38pm on June 27, 2021.
A common goal is to try and make the distance in less than 24 hours to make the traverse “official”. With a time goal in mind -- most hikers typically avoid summiting when possible.
Hikers have been lodging fastest known times on this route going back until at least the 1930s with the current FKT’s in the staggering10-12 hour range.

Nice! Great to hear the comments over the video. You have an awesome group there. We did our first Pres. Traverse about 6 weeks ago, really an eye opener. Good luck on the future adventures and hope to meet you on the trails someday.

These videos are great. The commentary adds a podcast feel and complements the video very well. You should have 20 times the views on these based on production value alone. I love the Whites and your videos do them justice.

Hey, thanks Dan! Appreciate the kind words. I just tried the hut traverse a 2nd time with a buddy. Hopefully I’ll get a video posted about it sometime in early October
