On that coil bolt, I drilled a hole then replaced the fastener with a self tapping screw from my local Ace Hardware.
Nice new shiny parts, nice to work with. Close call there Bob, but you made that job look easy in the end, great idea.
Good job JBR. Jungle Bob repair. I like that JBR in the house. Jungle Bob repair Rocks!!!!!!!

Thanks William!
Sometimes when brokeoff flush or just proud you can place a nut over the top of it and fill the nut in with weld real good. let it fully cool before trying to remove. The heat swells the bolt and it stays hotter longer than the aluminum But it often cracks the rust loose. The weld will not stick to the aluminum. I had worked in a machine shop a few years and this is a trick a old timer taught me. Other wiseinvest in a good extractor set with left handed drills. If you drill just under the thread size the left hand drill will often back the threads out. If your drill slips a bit and gets into threads then drill it out and retap for a heli cool the right size to restore them. I am sure you have removed it already but maybe my post will help someone out of a bind!
Don't forget to check the grease on the new spindle, many come without grease.

Thank you
I like what David said, although C-4 would be much cooler! lol Nice video Bob.
Great job Bob
Good job Bob
good video jungle bob
Great job Bob. That coil bolt isn't going to be any fun at all. I would just use a center punch in the broken stud and drill it out. Bad place for a broken bolt. Wishing you good luck with it my friend.
Might weld a nut to it, some times it works, but sock it over night in liquid wrench spray
How about other side thats the one i need to change
Easy peezy!
Good jb . Thanks for sharing take care and stay safe. Later brother
Last spindles i did I used anti seize instead of locktight. Either way is right.

I use nothing😊..
My 42 inch has the spindles under the mower which makes them inaccessible without taking the deck off. Minor, but irritating. I didn't use anything on the spindle bolts except WD40 to loosen them.Spend the extra money to get the prethreaded housing...save yourself some pain...
I purchased a new zero turn Husqvarna mower I had 11 hours on it and the bearing locked up and broke the belt. I didn’t know at the time what caused the belt to break, till I started to install the new belt, that when I discovered the bearing failure., None of the the spindles had any grease nor did the front wheel bearings. Husqvarna would not cover the cost. Now I am concerned about the hydraulic motors now no way to check to see if they have oil..

their spindles are made with sealed bearing so pump all the grease you want in and they will not get any in them. Only way to fix them is to knock the bearings out and remove the plasicseal from the sides you want grease to enter. It is a stupid design almost all of these mowers now have.

Actually, I saw a video that would allegedly prove if you pump enough grease in the center, the pressure will push the new grease into the bearings past the thin seal. He used red grease to displace the dark grease originally installed. Also the grease in the center of the spindle keeps any heating down.
