There was a warranty recall on the internal oiler hose. Alas I didn’t find this out until years after. Bought the newer hose and will be putting it in soon.

Nice find, Dave and I'm going to check mine. I have a well-built Makita DCS6401 and it's one powerful chainsaw but the oil leaking occurred and now that you mention it, the plate may have gotten slightly disfigured, so let me check. I've done a lot to find out why the bar oil leaks so heavily after chainsaw usage. The chain is getting lubed while running (as far as I know). I'll check chainsaw bar flow to make sure the oil is actually lubing the chain while running. Thanks for the tip. Enjoyed the lesson 👍🏽🙂

I literally replaced every oiler part because it wasn't oiling properly. I put it all together with brand new oem husqvarna parts and had oil coming out of the bottom. I did notice that the cover plate was slightly bent, but it was brand new so I didn't even think it was bad. Took saw apart and put back together 7 times before I saw this video. Bought to dent the cover plate and give it a proper seal. Hopefully this is the issue, because I have plenty of oil from the pump now and it goes mostly out the bottom instead to the bar. Ill update when I'm done.

Mine leaks but only when it's not running, so it's most likely not that for me.

I replaced my cover with a new one but when tightening the screw the left end raised up. I cannot figure out why. Suggestions?

Mine leaked like that also but turned out to be a stripped plastic oiler gear.

This seems to be a very common issue with these saws. WTF Husqvarna? Y’all really can’t figure out how to design a cover plate/hose connection that isn’t dependent on a pressure point that becomes defective just by getting an extremely small ding in it. My saw is brand fukin new and leaks all the bar oil out overnight. I sure wish I would have discovered this BEFORE I went with Husqvarna. Hasn’t even cut any wood yet and I’m already fixing the piece of shit! Steer clear of this brand of chainsaw, you have been warned!

So.......how do you get the sprocket off to then remove the cover plate? Guess I'll have to search for another vid now.

sounds like a guy trying to justify charging somebody alot....this is totally NOT the solution to this issue. Husqvarna/Jonsereds all have a poor seal where the oil supply line passes thru the tank......it can only be re-sealed/properly sealed, by taking the entire handle assembly off. This guy is talking pocket protector mechanics....and taking far too much verbage to show it.
