HUSQVARNA EE5 E-BIKE vs. HUSQVARNA TC50 GAS BIKE RACE SHOOTOUT AT BARTOW MOTOCROSS!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

6-year old Rennen and his 7-year old friend Knox had the vintage prepped Bartow Motocross track all to themselves during a recent Sunshine State Vintage MX Club race in Bartow Florida. The way the track was prepped for the old vintage bikes ended up being perfect for the little bikes, and a great setting to see how the electric powered Husqvarna EE5 stood against the gas powered Husqvarna TC50. Same exact bikes with different engines, one casual rider (Rennen - EE5) against one experienced rider (Knox - TC50). How do they stack up?
Rennen grabbed the holeshot, but his friend Knox was on the gas on his Husqvarna TC50 gas powered 50cc bike and took the lead about 3/4 of the way through the first lap. Knox is a more experienced rider and is a regular racer at Bartow, but Rennen held in there for a while and had a good race without falling or making a time-consuming mistake. The gas bike seems to have more top-end and benefits the rider that is willing to stay on the throttle and ride more "all out", whereas the electric bike has excellent torque out of the turns and through the loose dirt and seems to benefit the riding habits of a lesser experienced track rider. Both great bikes though!

It seems like the advantage of riders who aren't all out on the throttle would do better on electric and riders who are more conservative would benefit out of turns and faces of jumps and hills on electric. I am in the same boat trying to get my son in a faster 50cc than he has now and Im considering electric for him. He just started racing and is a bit throttle cautious on his 2 stroke however I am tried of changing oil, filters, race gas, and carb tuning.. he loves the BRRRAAAPP sound and I can't blame him but me being the team mechanic, I want less maintenance

Excellent riding by your son on the EE 5. My son races the same bike. Do you think the EE 5 can compete with the Cobras?

Thanks! I think the electric bikes are better in the turns and out of them, but will fall behind on the long straights just like it did in this video with the TC50. For us, we wanted Rennen to be comfortable on the bike and use it for gaining confidence and skill at his pace, we had a Cobra JR for a while, but it wasn’t really a suitable bike to practice with for us unless we were at the track. We can ride the EE5 any day of the week on the trails and backyard track we have, so for us the switch to the EE was about more riding time. If you’re 100% race and track, the Cobra is the status quo. Mark my words though, the majority of 50cc sized bikes will be electric in about 5-years

@@RennRacer oh right on, appreciate your feedback. Yep I ended buying a second EE 5 to keep up with the longer MX camps. I have a hard time keeping the bikes charged to full in between longer group motos. I'm fortunate that I cab charge the bikes from my plug in hybrid SUV from electric charged from home. We're just gonna have to game those turns 😅😁. I just ordered the Electric Motion Escape R for trails and keeping with the EE 5 on family trail rides. I agree, I was asked what is the point of going all electric right now when my son eventually heads to 65cc gas when he is 9...I responded, more seat time on electric in places outside of the track, especially since our home track closed due to noise.
