Husqvarna 701 Enduro: Installing a Rottweiler Performance Intake and SAS/Canister delete kit on a

This is the last performance mod I'm planning to do for my Husqvarna 701 Enduro. The job was very straight forward and took a little more than an hour of labor to complete. The gains were noticeable from the first ride with the increase in low rpm performance. The intake looks super sharp, and deleting the emissions system freed up a lot of room in the frame and gave it a much cleaner look. I'm super happy with the overall look and performance of the work that I did.

Looks like it will flow a lot more air. Not that I ride in deep water but it looks like the new air filter is lower than the factory air intake system. Hard to tell from the camera angles. Thanks for filming the install.

I’d say it is probably about 2 or 3 inches lower than the OEM filter so definitely something to think about when crossing water.

I was wondering about heavy Rain? The oil will keep sum water from goin into the motor ? It makes me think about goin a different intake?

@@user-wz8kf8th6xyep, I went back from the Rotty ITG filter to the original box with TwinAir filter with KTM power part EVO1 cover. That extra height is critical off-road

@@ronanrogers4127what is the EVO1 cover? And yes, I agree that heavy rain can mess this up big time. I’m also concerned about the change of shape and volume of the airbox, I don’t understand the consequences, but it occurs to me that smaller is not necessarily better…

Thanks for this. My concern with this is that changing the airbox is a big deal and should definitely require a remap. I’ve heard people complain about the size of the airbox as an “obvious design flaw” in that it could have been “a third of the size”. But we don’t know really, do we? The shape of the airbox determines the airflow to the engine and is probably co-designed with the engine map to provide a certain response at all rpms. Now you’ve replaced it with just a tube going into the throttle body, yes I can see is smaller (with rade would have been even smaller), victory! but is it? what are the potential drawbacks? I don’t know. Do you?

Rottweiler Perf suggest's a tune if you add their intake due to lean conditions at the top of the RPM range. I have a PC VI so that isn't an issue

Thanks for the videos, helped me understand what to expect as I am planning to go down a similar path to yours. I am also thinking about the Dynojet POD-300 so as to have a look at parameters post ride. With all your mods in now, what do you think?

I’m super happy with all the mods. I’m taking a trip to AZ with a friend in a month. He will be on a stock 701 and I’ll have mine. I’m going to do an honest evaluation of how the two handled the trip and if all the mods I did actually make a real difference. Keep an eye out for that one
