Part 3 of 5 In The Husqvarna 572 Dead Saw Salvage Series
Dead Saw Salvage Series, TWO 572's both whooped and not in running condition. This series is about how a "DIY" type can work around the lack of a Husqvarna Dealer network & still get these 500 series Autotunes together and running from a pile of broken junk parts.
572 Dead Saw Salvage Series Summary:
Part 1 of 5 ( Loss Of Husqvarna Dealer Network, Husqvarna 572 Case Split , Crank Case Disassembly & replacement of PTO side Bearing in A Husqvarna 572
Part 2, Diagnostics & Statement relative to saw modification "cult" types selling services on line using KZread as a sales platform.
Part 3, Top End Assembly & First Start Of The First of TWO Dead 572's
Part 4, Replacing Chain Brake Handle , Anti Vib Spring & General Details To Make This Saw Work Ready
Part 5 Second Dead Saw Salvage , Stripped Muffler Bolt "Red Neck Repair"
Has a new PTO side bearings , a used top end from another "blown up" saw. And NOTICE none of this build required CST to prove a point. A DIY can mix and match stuff on the 572 chassis to build a running saw w/o dealer or CST.

I like the idea of gluing the small bolts in place that you cannot torque especially on the PTO side.

Another running serviceable unit - be interesting to see how it performs in the timber vs other 572xp. Sometimes a Frankensaw can surprise a guy

Wow, that's going back a ways. Not sure actually. I don't know if that video is still up on the channel. My favorite one from them was the 300 yard sound u never want to hear :)

Walt, have you ever considered machining out a 372 case to accept the larger bearings of one of the bigger saws? Also: Have you ever considered on one of those auto tune saws opening up the spark plug hole to accept the larger BPMR7 plug?

Not really. Those cases are stressed enough w/o pulling more material from them. 572's use the same plug size as a 372.
