Looks like fun! I took this week off to go camping and take a day to get my shop cleaned up and cut up a bunch of wood but its 91 out and about 1000% humidity so screw that. We should be caught up by late July and really going to start hammering cutting. Sitting on 4 cords of mixed wood and its all between 8-14% moister so its about time I get selling it lol.

I use Stihl saws but have the same basic sizes. My stihl 462 with a 24” bar is great for bucking on the pile but does wear you out faster. When I need a break I grab the 261 with a 18” bar to cut the smaller stuff. There is no replacement for displacement though.

Hi Chris. I have 550xp and love it for small stuff and limbing. However, I am not fond of the smaller curf and narrow chain compared to the 3/8 chain that you have on the 572. I find the larger chain easier to file. With that said, I would suggest that perhaps the 562 xp may be better for you as a smaller lighter saw than the 572. The one advantage is that you can use the same bar and chain as your 572.

I have that same saw Chris and I love it that little thing is a ripper, only thing that I would probably recommend is that you keep the stock bar that it comes with witch is 18 inch, I wanted to upgrade to the 20 inch but the sales guy recommended I stay at 18 cuz if you bury that saw and a big log with a 20 inch bar it's just going to bog out cuz it does have enough nut for a 20
