Vet tech here. I see these little eyelid masses a lot. Usually a fairly quick operation, mainly benign. You will barely notice they did anything at all =) He may have some eye drops for recovery and he'll be shaved but I have full confidence Sherpa will do well! I'll be keeping him in my thoughts and prayers!

I got to set in on that surgery once in school. It was a shar-pei that had entropion and that ulceration on both eyes. Once she was done and recovered a little we couldn’t bring her inside because she was staring at the world. Lol it was adorable.

My dog had had several eyelid masses we've had removed over last 10yrs. The shaved eye & face is funny.

Sending up prayers, positive thoughts and lots of love to Sherpa for his surgery. Lots of chicken balls for a speedy recovery!!

He is ageing so well, the older he gets the expressions just look cuter… yet the mind says pup all the time… sending positive vibes 🤗🙏❤️

I know. I found it horrible when I took my dog and had to leave him overnight at the Vet and this was when he was a little few months old.

Sending prayers your way that Sherpa does well with the surgery and the growth is benign. Hopefully, nothing like this will grow back, and Sherpa will see ALL the chicken balls!

Sherpa and Jamie, you have a LOT of people sending best thoughts for an easy time and speedy recovery!

I’m sure Sherpa’ll be fine I bet you even when he’s knocked out his tail will still wag!😂

Hello Jamie! I just wanted to tell you, my dog Villo, had the same surgery and growth too. The surgery was a success and I'm sure Sherpa will be just fine. My Villo was around the same age as Sherpa too.Sherpa will be around for a long time to come. As a matter of fact Sherpa will make it in the Guiness book of world records, one day. My darling german shepherd had to have this exact procedure done at 13! He had a warty growth on his inner eye lid and it was benign but growing rapidly. The vet did an extra pre-op 'work up' (blood tests to check organs) extra monitoring and lots and lots of iv fluids before, during, and after which apparently makes it safer for an older dog to have anaesthetic. He came out fine. Wishing you both all the luck in the world with this: I know how worried you will be. Get well soon Sherps: we are rooting for you!

@@Javajavajav Aw, thank you! I will find out! Haven't got the figure to hand but going to the vet's on Monday with my other rescue German Shepherd and I will ask. I think it was about a hundred pounds extra but you know how it is: you would eat beans on toast for a month to help your pup! May I ask how old your girl is? So glad to see the update that Sherpa is fine!

@@Javajavajav my dog had this done at 13 years young as well (he will be 15 Aug 28). It cost me 600 with meds and everything. He was suppose to stay all day but they ended up calling me before 10am because he woke up after surgery and wouldn’t stop crying. Good luck with your pupperoni:)

one of my older AmStaffs had the exact same thing. It's such a fast procedure, he was only under for 10 min. He was bouncing the next day. We'll be thinking of Sherp and know he will do just as well!

Oh Jamie, I know you’re trying not to show that you’re worried but I can tell by your voice that you are. Sherpa is a very,well loved and fit dog and it sounds like a very simple and straight forward procedure. I’m sure he will be back to his magnificent self in no time.

Yes you can tell by his little laughs that he is nervous. He will be fine Jamie. It will be real quick and sedation is much lighter than it used to be. They will get him back alert asap.

It's always stressful when our dogs go under anesthesia, especially older dogs. However, Sherpa is very active and healthy, especially for his age, which means he has a strong heart and lungs. I imagine he will come through this operation with great ease. Still, I know it won't stop you from worrying, Jamie. Best wishes to you and Sherpa from the States.💕😊

We are sending lots of love and prayers for Sherpa, he is such a special boy! 💛 My dog had surgery last month to remove a tumor in her mouth. Luckily, she did really well but we got the news a few weeks later that she has terminal cancer. We are taking good care of her with whatever time is left. It's always scary when your dog needs surgery.

When we knew we had to say goodbye to a very loyal Border Collie we spent his last week taking him on his favourite walks and giving him and us plenty of good times to remember. It really helped us get through those last few days.

My German Shepherd, Bulldozer, had a life threatening incident three years ago. Afterwards he was diagnosed with a bad heart valve. He was given one year to live. We were blessed with him for three more years. I am amazed and thrilled at the level of veterinary care available to those loved ones in our lives. We lost Dozer last month. It broke our hearts but we knew we were blessed with him for so long. I’m sure Sherpa will be as good as new after his operation. And I will pray for both of you. I sat on the floor next to Dozer on his bed and watched a lot of Sherpa videos over the years. I would talk to Dozer, scratch him, and watch your videos. You and Sherpa, Jody, and Key were and are definitely a part of our lives. I wish you the best.

Poor baby! It's better to get the growth out early in the game. Dad is gonna hold your paw :-))

Even though I'm fairly new to your channels I'm catching up quickly! I remember in one video when Sherpa had the operation you recorded what you did while he was in hospital. You mentioned you missed the tapping of Sherpa's nails as he'd walk next to you, and absolutely took the wind out of me & a few tears. I hope you know you are not alone through this. We all will be sending energy in whatever form so that Sherpa will triumph thru surgery and afterwards, healing fully & quickly as well as surrounding you with positivity and hugs. It is very reassuring to read that so many others have gone through the same with wonderful results! When you know the exact date will you post, so that we can send energy during the operation & recovery? Sherpa, so after the operation you're obviously going to be down to acceptable weight (we all know you are perfectly acceptable now!), You need to tell your Dad that the reason for extra weight was removed and you are now able to resume normal eating habits 🤣🤣🤣 Chicken balls, SSS' & all the rabbit ears for Sherpa after he conquers the operation!!!!
