@@Valeria....I don’t believe it’s in our right to blame him, even though it’s an extremely painful thing I wish Maddi did not have to experience. It’s not fair to her but it’s not fair to judge him either. It is not a matter of blame and guilt. These things can happen in life even if you do everything right. I also think it’s disrespectful to try to discuss this and talk about him that way on her videos. Even tho she will not be active on her account, I don’t think she would appreciate these comments. We don’t know him like Maddi, this is someone she loved, and we have no idea what he was going through. There’s no solution to this situation, people with mental illness can have a really difficult time coping and asking for help. As someone with many years of depression, I know how that feels too. You’re not thinking straight when you have that kind of headspace. Let’s simply pay our respects and give Maddi the love and privacy she deserves.

I never commented on Maddi’s videos. I liked her videos but after reading her post on the community, I am unable to process it! I remembered a few days ago how excited Maddi was to celebrate his birthday. It is unfathomable how it all turned out in just a matter of days. Praying for God’s peace upon Maddi and her entire family. God you’re sovereign and right now I pray for your peace and comfort be upon your child, May she lean on you during this difficult time, during this grieving process. Maddie, I think that you probably brought him more happiness and love than anything else. I'm so sorry it wasn't enough and that he was struggling. I lost my best guy friend the same way and the heartbreak and self blame and questions never go away, even though you know it's not your fault.

I’ve been in tears on and off since I read the news. My heart is absolutely shattered for you. You’re in the prayers, thoughts and the hearts of thousands of us. I’m deeply sorry this happened I attempted that once and landed myself in ICU. Then when those thoughts of suicide started returning I got help. I walked into an ER and refused to leave. They found a Hospital with a 10 bed ward just for this. I checked myself in for 6 days. It saved my life. I’ve never had those thoughts again, they gave me the tools I needed. If you read this and ever feel like life isn’t worth it, please don’t give up. Please reach out. Oh god, I can barely see thru the tears to type. There is help out there, I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to be dead I just knew I needed to not feel like I did. So I understand. You can feel better. Feel different. I promise ❤ Maddie is going to need as much love as we can give her. I pray She has the support at home and in person.

I can’t stop thinking about you and Mr. peach. I’m praying for your healing girl.

You’re an amazing woman and wife. Mental health is so confusing and difficult. You can spend every moment with someone and never know how much they are struggling. You were a light in his life. Suicide is a symptom of a terminal stage of mental illness. It is final and irreversible and it is a symptom of an illness. It is never the blame of a person. May he and everyone who loves him find the peace they are seeking.

The commenter is completely right when they say suicide is a symptom of mental illness. You wouldn’t tell cancer patients that them having cancer is selfish so why say it to those who are severely depressed? It will save lives to view depression and suicide as a healthcare condition rather than something that is selfish. By the way if you want to learn more, look up Natasha Kulviwat. She is the genius high schooler who was able to find the connections between physical substances in the brains and those who successfully committed suicide,

I found you because of your “day ___ of picking myself up off the floor” videos. I didn’t know he passed how he did until today. I’m so sorry. That is the hardest way to lose someone. I’ve been there and while it wasn’t my spouse, it was the most devastating thing I think I will ever live through. Much love to you. Know you loved him the best you could and sometimes we simply cannot fix or change the inner workings of another person’s mind no matter how well we loved them. Wishing you healing and peace someday down the road.

Maddi, I’m commenting this with hopes you will see this. Please remember the good times with your husband. Mental health is such a difficult thing to understand. There were times I felt like I was screaming out for help from my partner and he would brush it off like it was nothing. I know that if your husband let you know he was struggling you would have helped him as much as you possibly could. But you didn’t know. It’s not your fault and it will never be. I hope he is in a place now where he is no longer suffering from the pain. It’s incredibly sad that you are now the one that’s in pain but that is something people who take their own lives fail to realize: how much their loved ones will miss them. Take it one day at a time, Maddi. You are strong and we are here for you. We love you and we want you to be happy. Maybe that won’t happen anytime soon but there will be a day where you can feel happiness again. Keep talking and sharing your feelings. Talking about things instead of bottling it up helps a lot.
