@angie btw this scene was non-sense from beginning. Human painting wasn't permitted in Islamic culture back then, expect just like Persian miniature. And harem ladies never met and seen by stranger men, let alone painted. If Leo was real person, he can't met Hürrem in the first place or even didn't knew her ex-lover became sultan's consort.

It's not just his trust in Hurrem but also his knowledge that his mother hates Hurrem and doesn't approve of the marriage so her word alone can't be trusted. He has reason to doubt her credibility but not Hurrem's so he's not going to believe what Hurrem tells him over his mother's unproven accusations.

Notice here that valide was prepared to sacrifice her grandchildren because they were Hurrem's children while preserving Mustapha. The sad thing was Mahidevran would have thrown her out as soon as Suleiman died.

I had the same reaction (especially since Leo's diary reads a lot more like a one sided affection out of context) until I remembered that the harem women were expected to have no contact with other men in the harem for just this reason. Still, though, the drama of this reaction is so overblown it's crazy.

@@MrA1R1S Actually…The only reason why Mehmet died was because Mahidevran poisoned him, he died first because of Mahidevran. In this case it wasn’t Hurrem, it was Mahidevran. Mahidevran also played a role into the murder of Mustafa, if she had been smarter then her son wouldn’t have ended up the way he did. Instead she concentrated in hurting others instead of focusing on her son 🤷🏻‍♀️ By no means it means Hurrem is innocent, but I don’t blame her. She wouldn’t have been able to be where she is unless she hadn’t been merciless Have we been watching the same series?

The main plots of this series is more accurate than ertugurul and osman

The nice thing was that the dressmakers were assigning fabrics for each character in order to match not only to enhance the characteristics of the actor, but to show the status too 😊 and while people may argue about the accuracy or lack of thereof, it was a conscious choice that was justified!

Evidently. It looked a bit Westernized (I researched 16th century attire and tbh, neither Europeans nor Ottomans dressed like this) and rather new for the period. Ah well. I wish we had more historically accurate costumings. I mean Roxelana/Hurrem even had a painting by Titian.

Don't ever mess to someone who suffered cruelties in life....especially ,the survivors who went through hell.

I cannot understand how anyone could perceive Hurrem as hateful or evil. In this series, she does any and everything to survive. Frankly, the experiences that fictional Hurrem goes through are so overwhelming that I'm surprised she isn't bitter and hateful like Mahidervran.

I think a lot could’ve been avoided if Hurrem would’ve told Suleiman about Leo when she first saw him there. He was from her village, from her past. She had nothing to do with him now. She could’ve even requested that Leo not continue to come to the palace (to avoid any issues ). I think Suleiman would’ve understood and appreciated her honesty.

In real liife history Valide and Hurrem loved each other and were friends.

As much as I love this scene, I can't get over the amount hypocrisy in this scene. Suleyman slept and had romantic contact with other women while he was married to Hurrem. No one saw anything wrong with it, not even the sultan himself. But here when there were rumors of leo and hurrem in a relationship everyone was ready to attack hurrem, and if hurrem actually had a relationship with leo secretly. Im sure suleyman would have executed both of them.

this diary that valida had was no evidence, it was Leo's diary where he wrote about his feelings for Hurrem, perhaps, but tells nothing about whether feelings were returned.

The last episode available in the US was when Ibrahim tried to betray her and Leo and was attempting to make them poison themselves. I don’t know what happened afterwards but it’s not Huram’s fault Leo came looking for her. Huram loves Suliman and she was asking Leo to leave. It was Ibrahim that was trying to destroy her. One thing I didn't understand.....Hurrem was loving Leo when even she never thought that she vl b captured n brought to Istanbul. So she n infact any harem lady can hv their past. How can they take advantage of this. I think it was a serious crime to love someone that time😲😲☺️

Not that because as long as they were virgin when they entered the harem, no problem. This storyline was just to prolong the series because it was a non event.
