i love kexp, have found so many great bands because of them

I cannot get enough of this. Alynda Lee's voice is pure heaven and the band supports her with just the right touch of accompaniment. Sweet, subtle magic...

This band is incredible. Simple stuff with a unique spin = greatness. Also, I'm in love with Alynda!

Alynda Lee's song , New San Francisco Bay Blues, incorporates guitar phrases which I associate with a Townes Van Zandt version of Darcy Farrow. Not that there's anything wrong with using fundamentals which many virtuoso guitarists employ. Love it.

She's very little like Patti Smith. Not to mention that 'very young Patti Smith' wasn't even a musician. She was a struggling writer, principally writing poetry. "Horses", "Radio Ethiopia", "Easter" don't sound much like these songs, either. I'd never call her early stuff 'country'/'folk'. She reminds me much more of someone like Gillian Welch, a bit of A.A. Bondy, or Coralee.

Cool band. I recommend a guy named John Paul Keith from Tennessee. Check him out y'all.

Hans-Werner Link She traveled there and had a bad experience with either the people or environment she encountered. Sometimes we refer to things or experiences as "mean" here, figuratively. example: the weather is mean out today, traffic was a bitch, etc. I personally wouldn't deduce that she dislikes all Germans or Germany from that simple line, but I see why you posed the question.
