A Lowell Thomas Production
Directed by Otto Lang
A Stanley Warner Cinerama Presentation
Re-copyrighted 2014 by Cinerama Inc.
____________________________________________
This historic travelogue Search for Paradise is a 1957 American documentary film in the "Cinerama" technique about the Kingdom of Hunza, a hidden valley bordered by China, Russia, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, home to a legendary warrior tribe.
______________________________________________
John Sittig, director of Cinerama Inc. at Arclight Cinemas has authorized the Restoration of four Cinerama films as part of a 60th anniversary Cinerama preservation project. These films are "Cinerama Holiday" (1955), "Seven Wonders of the World" (1956), "Search for Paradise" (1957) and "South Seas Adventure" (1958). John has been working closely with Michael Forman from Pacific Theaters, the owners of Cinerama. Michael, a long-time board member of the American Film Institute, is very concerned about film preservation and has funded the digital scanning of these 3-strip Cinerama travelogue negatives.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful Cinerama presentation! And rightfully crediting the original sources!! The entire film is worth watching if the current generation could admire the awesomeness of the wide-screen format! I presume you have cropped the smilebox effect which was intended to be presented for any Cinerama presentation remastered releases.

The full version of "Search for Paradise" is feature length and we have extracted just the Hunza Chapter out of it. We have cropped it just for the sake of social media only otherwise one can have the best experience of Cinerama through 35mm projectors on a big screen.
